HELLO! Remember me?! The chances of anyone seeing this are zilch, but whatever 🤣 I’ve been super quiet as I went back to work in sales and marketing 3 months ago. I love my business but being self employed is hard, and with everything being that but more expensive, I needed the security of employment. So Streamline and Style is simmering on the back burner for the time being. Little did I know what my new role would lead to, and despite being hired to run the office/develop the business/manage sales yadayada, I got chatting with my boss about my styling portfolio and he asked me to stage one of his properties for agents photographs and viewings - what do you think?! Was so much fun spending the last couple of days putting this together. Also very happy to be taking my first paid holiday in 5.5 years this week 🤣🩷 Happy bank holiday everyone! Gx

💕SPARE ROOM STYLE UPDATE 💕

I’ve recently been back with one of my all time favourite clients, this time updating the spare room which has over the years served many different purposes as her daughters have grown up. It’s been a den, a study, a playroom - you name it - but now the remit was to create a more mature space perfect for guests.

The walls are neutral and the blinds were an investment, so I found a way to incorporate the fabric into the theme. There was a lovely amethyst undertone that I chose to pair with heather pink, taupe, gold and slate grey.

The addition of a dressing table, gold mirror, crisp bedding and soft velvet cushions made maximum impact on a relatively low budget. A simple but very effective style update!

My name is Gemma and I’m a perfectionist 🤦🏻‍♀️🤪

But it’s something I’m working on 🤣

I took this photo ages ago but never shared it because the lampshade on the left is wonky and it annoyed me. I’m now trying to accept that sometimes in life there are wonky lampshades and that’s ok!! 🤣

That said, I love helping my clients create styled and organised homes that are perfect to them, that truly reflect them and their personalities - not an overly perfect showhome.

I love creating systems that function perfectly for each individual and their lifestyle. Systems that make everyday life that little bit easier. Plus I like to make them look pretty too!

Style and organisation is not a one size fits all business! It’s a case of finding your own perfect.

I can’t believe we’ve had this kitchen 3 years already! Where did that time go?!

It’s on sunny afternoons like today that I remind myself of just how dark this space was before we knocked all the walls out and made it open plan.

✈️ GET PACKING✈️

With all the airport chaos at the at the moment, I loved helping yesterdays client take all the pre-travel stress away by helping her pack perfectly.

She loves to travel, but she also loves to try and pack her entire wardrobe into one case, so she always employs me beforehand to help her take exactly what she needs and not a thing more.

Here are a few of my top packing tips:

▪️Pick what you think you need - then half it! If you have a 7 night break you only need 7 evening outfits! I always suggest that you take evening outfits that can be casual-ed down for day wear or things that can be switched up for a different look.

▪️Roll your clothes. This stops creasing and the need for pressing on the other side.

▪️Invest in some packing cubes to help you utilise the luggage space to its absolute max.

▪️Pack neutral shoes and bags that can be worn with everything so you take less and wear them more.

▪️Wear or sneak your heaviest shoes and clothes into your hand luggage on the flight to save extra charges.

▪️Split outfits across two cases - I’ve had a case lost before so this way you’re covered for the short term. And since then I always pack my best swimsuit in my hand luggage!

▪️Decant your toiletries into small clear travel bottles that can be reused again and again.

▪️Save a bit of space on the outbound for any holiday purchases!

We had an incredible week in Spain with lovely friends last week. The travel madness was worth it!

I’ve been a bit quiet lately as I’ve been working on a really exciting new venture that I will be running alongside Streamline and Style (this doesn’t mean I’m wrapping S&S up - far from it!)

I have teamed up with the incredibly talented .girl to create the perfect Wardrobe Edit service.

Jacq is a qualified fashion stylist who helps our clients build outfits from their existing wardrobe, learn more about what styles, shapes and colours suit them and creates a list of missing pieces that help bring everything together.

And you all know me well enough by now - I concentrate on establishing what the client loves, wears and uses as well as what can be repurposed, recycled or sold. Then create a perfectly organised space that looks fabulous and functions perfectly.

Jacq offers a personal shopping after service and I help clients sell on items of value for a profit in their favour.

We really do both compliment each other’s skills brilliantly so it is the perfect pairing!

⏰ BST GMT+1 = Time to swap out the thick knits and sequins for shorts and summer dresses ☀️ Now all my winter wear is out of reach you can all expect snow within the next 7-10 days 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣. I always find this is the best time to have a good cull of clothes I’ve not worn all season, and to only rehang pieces I am confident I’ll wear during this one. Do you swap your wardrobes over? If your closet could do with reorganising but you don’t know where to start then you know where I am!

⭐️ BOUTIQUE HOTEL ROOM CHIC ⭐️ When working for this wonderful couple I really wanted to make sure I created a master suite with the wow factor. The brief was ‘Boutique Hotel Room Chic’ and I think these bold blues paired with crisp silvers tick all the boxes ✔️ The headboard from was quite a tricky blue to pair with, so I couldn’t believe my luck when I finally found these stunning cushions and throw in The addition of the palm statement lamps from exude modern luxury. I’m so thrilled they loved the end result as much as I loved putting it all together 💙
