This failed Winkhaus Trulock was opened this evening using our template and wire technique. As the keys were locked behind a second door fitted with a high-security lock and security handles, the only viable option was to sacrifice the handle to gain entry and replace the faulty part.

After 3 weeks, the new room is nearly finished!

Just a few finishing touches left to do now.

A tricky failed mechanism on a solid timber door today, where the bottom hook wouldn’t release due to the strap that connects into the gearbox had snapped off.

After some on-site problem solving, we managed to get the door open by making a wire to manually retract the hook. New parts were then fitted, adjustments made, and the door is now working exactly as it should again.

We attended a job where someone had attempted to snap lock after losing the keys

Modern 3-star locks are specifically designed to fail safely. When force is applied, they don’t simply break open — they activate a lockdown mode, leaving the mechanism secured and often making the situation much worse.

🔧 What happened here:
The lock had been attacked and snapped triggering its internal defence system. This meant the door stayed firmly locked, and removal became far more complex than a standard entry.

❗ Why this matters:
• You’re unlikely to gain entry
• It often results in a more expensive repair

✅ The safer option:
If you’ve lost your keys, always contact a professional. We have the right tools and techniques to gain entry without unnecessary damage.

Another job sorted
This patio door had a failed mechanism — the bottom was opening but the top had completely broken away from the locking strip, leaving it stuck shut.

The door was carefully deglazed and a small access point created to safely release the top section and get everything opened again. All sorted with minimal disruption
