We recently visited Tŷ-Mawr Lime near a recon, Wales - a manufacturer and distributor of natural, environmentally-friendly building materials and systems.

Their guiding principles are based on an innovative approach of combining new material research and traditional building methods / processes, informing a real understanding of how buildings function and change over time.

Their products are designed and selected to have a minimal environmental impact with a strong emphasis being placed on sourcing locally to support communities.

We were kindly shown around the farm, manufacturing site and learning centre and saw how various products were made and applied. These include a comprehensive range of floor, wall and roof systems such as h**p and lime plaster, lime washes, natural insulation and aggregates. We will be sharing some more information on these soon!

Excited to have been developing the concept for a confessional installation in collaboration with Klara Kierzkowska .ledsen on display at Dilston Grove, London from 18th-19th January 2020.
The installation subverts a confessional's conventional function through the use of sound and video and invites members of the public to participate during the two day exhibition. The piece is being shown as part of Fine Art Degree show titled ‘Don’t Panic’ and runs 11am-4pm over the two days.
Here’s a little 1:20 model we’ve made showing the relationship between the fibre cement panels and wood fibre acoustic cavity.

Very excited for the opening of this one!
The Drumsheds is the latest venture from Broadwick Venues - the creators of Printworks - and shall exist as a new cultural venue for London as part of a wider 6bn development in the Meridian Water area. The venue combines four giant, interlinked, warehouses with capacities of up to 10,000 inside along with 10 acres of outdoor space. Located only a stones throw from Tottenham Marshes and Ikea, the site is easily accessible from across the city and shall add considerable capacity to London’s existing nightlife scene.
Historically, the site operated as a gasworks between the 1930s and 1970s and has remained unused until now. The unique venue will embrace a new lease of life, in which the former gasworks and outdoor space will be revived as a ground-breaking and multi-purpose event space suitable for large scale indoor music and cultural events along with the 10-acre outdoor space that its suitable for large music festivals.
Forming partnerships with local councils and developers is all part of Broadwick’s business model of “breathing new life” into spaces awaiting redevelopment. “We see an opportunity to create something special in the interim of the regeneration phase,” says Bradley Thompson, managing director of Broadwick Live & Venues. “We want to launch venues for London that are forward-thinking in terms of music programming that also work from a corporate, community and financial perspective.”
