Behind the scenes in the workshop.

Before any brand-new fragrance ever makes it on to our shelves, it goes through our rigorous testing process. This includes doing several test burns with several variables of wick sizes and percentages of fragrance load to ensure a great hot throw and an even, clean burn right to the edges of the tin with zero tunneling.

For every test batch, we carefully record burn metrics including flame appearance and behaviour whilst burning.

In the making of a new fragrance candle we record the exact pour temperature, fragrance load percentage, and cure time in your batch log so we can easily replicate these results.

This new fragrance has a gorgeous cold throw and a fantastic hot throw that fills the entire room, this latest test candle has passed with flying colours!

✨ Every Handmade Welsh Candle starts the same way… with careful preparation. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Before a single drop of wax is poured, every tin is individually prepared by hand.

The first stage is fitting each container with a professional Stabilo wick, secured perfectly in place using Stick-Em-Up wick stickers. It might seem like a small detail, but getting the wick perfectly centred is essential for a clean, even burn from the first light to the last.

It’s one of those behind-the-scenes jobs that most people never see, but it’s an important part of creating a high-quality handmade candle.

Quality isn’t just about the fragrance… it’s about taking care with every step of the process. 💚
