Dear all,
I would like to offer a brief and measured response to the discussion.
This post was shared in two different groups, and most replies raised concerns about potential slip hazards. I understand and respect everyone’s focus on safety.
In client communications, I have already explained the differences in use between carpet and hard flooring, as well as the potential risks associated with each. It is important to clarify that carpet does not eliminate the risk of falls, and hard flooring does not necessarily equate to severe injury. The safety profile of any material depends on the specific product specifications, installation method, and the environment in which it is used.
Following publication of the post, some comments drew firm conclusions based solely on the photo—for example, asserting that serious slipping would be inevitable. To address this, I wish to clarify the actual conditions: before and after material selection and installation, I conducted tests based on prior experience, including barefoot walk tests, and did not observe a tendency toward slipping.
Additionally, the exact flooring model, its slip-resistance performance, and relevant treatment details may not be known to everyone. Consequently, conclusions drawn from a single photograph may not fully reflect the real-world risk.
Since moving to the UK, I have consistently provided advice and services grounded in professional knowledge and practical experience. From needs assessment, quotation, and installation through to completion and billing, all processes have been transparent and conducted on a clear, fair basis. To date, overall client feedback has been positive.
I recognise that online discussions allow for a wide range of views, and differing opinions are to be expected. I respect everyone’s right to express their perspective. At the same time, I hope the conversation can be anchored in facts, information, and rational analysis, rather than conclusions based on speculation.
If there is any shortcoming in the above response, please accept my apologies. I simply ask that, when discussing professional topics, we maintain basic objectivity and a reasonable standard of discourse.
