Job completed for Andy Jackson’s hair salon (a while back)💈

Full redecoration throughout — existing wallpaper stripped and walls sealed with Gardz before any paint went on.
Main salon finished in a warm brown matt with wood panel features going in around the mirrors. The toilet area went the opposite direction — out with the dark, in with a clean light finish. All woodwork refreshed in white satin from top to bottom.

Used Crown Clean Extreme Durable Matt throughout — ideal for a commercial space that’s going to see daily footfall and wear.

The place looks completely different. Business owner is happy, job’s done right. That’s what it’s about.

Exterior job completed up Ighten Hill in Burnley! 🏠👨🏻‍🎨

The previous masonry paint had completely given up — full sections falling off the wall, bare render showing underneath. Before a drop of paint went on, i re-rendered the damaged areas, let everything dry properly, then applied two coats of Sandtex Smooth Masonry throughout. Downpipes and window sills finished off in blue satin to match.
The difference speaks for itself. Proper prep, proper materials, proper finish.

The walls on this one were rough after stripping. Patchy, uneven, the kind of surface that shows every imperfection once paint goes on.
So before any paint went near them — 2000 grade lining paper went on first.

It’s a step a lot of people skip because it takes time and it’s not the glamorous part of the job.
But it’s the difference between a finish that looks right and one that looks like the wallpaper was just removed and painted over. You can always tell.

Small bedroom — fresh white on the ceiling, undercoat and satin on all the woodwork including the radiator, mid sheen grey on the walls. Clean, fresh and ready for carpets.
The walls underneath were a state. You’d never know it now. That’s the point.

Some jobs come with a better view than others. 🏠🎨👨🏻‍🎨

Kitchen and lounge decoration in Brierfield — new kitchen going in alongside it so the timing had to work around the other trades.
The grey in the kitchen is Crown Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting, matched deliberately to the tone of the wallpaper in the lounge.
That continuity between rooms is what makes a house feel like a home rather than just a collection of painted walls.
The wallpaper wraps around the lounge and completely changes the energy of the space.

Ceiling had silk on it — taken back to a proper matt white. Woodwork went from gloss to satin throughout. Two changes most people overlook but the difference in how light sits in the room afterwards is night and day.

Oh — and love the view of Pendle Hill through the patio doors. My two year old climbed on the weekend. Had the cheek to ask me if I was tired at the top. 😅

This job is a good example of why you can’t just paint over everything and hope for the best. 🎨👨🏻‍🎨

Small bedroom in — the client wanted to get away from the old varnished wood wardrobes and bring the whole room into the present. Simple enough brief. Except varnished surfaces need serious prep before any paint goes near them.

Sand it back properly, apply the right primer, then you can paint. Skip either of those steps and you’ll be peeling it off within months.
Once the prep was done — white ceiling, magnolia walls, white satin on the skirtings, window frame and wardrobe frames throughout. The room went from dark and dated to light, fresh and ready for new carpets.

Nobody sees the sanding. Nobody sees the primer going on. But everybody notices when the finish is still looking right two years later — and everybody notices when it isn’t.

New carpets going down after us and it’ll be a completely different room. That’s the bit we love about this job.

This little bedroom came a long way in a short space of time. 🙌 👨🏻‍🎨🎨

The panelling fitted and the whole room freshened up before new carpets and a built-in wardrobe went in.

We supplied and fitted the panelling from scratch, then primed and undercoated before finishing using Crown Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Matt in a sulking room pink. Above the panelling is finished in a durable grey, woodwork in white satin and the ceiling got a fresh coat too while we were at it. Existing wallpaper was stripped back before any of that started.

That mid-job photo of the panelling going up is one of those things people don’t often see — but that’s where the time goes and that’s why the finish looks the way it does when it’s done.

This one was a really satisfying job to finish. 🌿🎨👨🏻‍🎨

Stairs, bannister and lounge area in Padiham — the brief was to make everything sit together with the wallpaper, and I think we nailed it.
The green on the walls is matched to pull the tones straight out of the palm leaf paper.

Proper colour-matching jobs like this are one of those things that looks simple but takes a bit of an eye to get right.

The bannister and stair frame had gone yellow over the years — classic sign of old oil-based paint breaking down. A lot of people just paint over it and hope for the best. I don’t, Sanded it back using my Mirka setup and applied a water-based system primer and undercoat first, then finished in a water-based satin. It’ll stay white now rather than yellowing again in a couple of months.

Also sorted the corners that had started to peel away — re-taped and sealed before painting so it’s not going to cause problems down the line.
Crown Clean Extreme mould inhibiting emulsion throughout. The finish speaks for itself.
