Just finished a job digging up ragwort and strimming back some over grown areas. The croft had been sprayed previously to kill the ragwort but it hadn’t been successful and returned with a vengeance within a few weeks. Most of the time chemicals will only kill the leaves, flowers and stem, but not the roots. This is why we always recommend pulling them up rather than spraying.

An insight into the chalet door replacement. The customer requested that we use a reclaimed door as the replacement and a local supplier for the glazing.

Some work I carried out at a chalet in Cornwall at the end of last year and beginning of this year.
The customer asked us to replace the guttering,re-clad under the window, replace the door,replace the bathroom window and re-paint the whole chalet and make window surrounds.
I didn’t always remember to take photos of the finished result so here are the photos I remembered to take!

It has been a busy few months hence the lack of activity.
We have now relocated to the Isle of Lewis on the Outer Hebrides. We are in the thick of our own house renovation. Here is an insight into what we have been up to.
A before and during of the bathroom as we still have the sink and toilet to put in as well as finish the window surround.
We added a WC by taking out the leaking chimney and water-heater cupboard and creating the WC in its place. The hallway is still to be painted and door architrave put on but we are pleased with the results and use of the space we had.
With the bedrooms we stripped, insulated and re-boarded. Then taped and filled and wallpapered. A feature colour was painted onto one of the rooms at our sons request.
Carpets were fitted by Carpet world and the rest of the work has been carried out by ourselves.
Still a long way to go as we don’t currently have a kitchen or living room but progress will now slow down as we are returning to work.

In our latest job we have been carrying out demolition work for a client. It wasn’t an easy job as before we could strip and collapse the caravan, we had to cut back the brambles that had overgrown around it. Emptying it was a job in itself, as it was full from floor to ceiling with old household items and over 30 windows were also removed from inside, outside and even underneath the caravan. Needless to say, a fair few trips to the recycling centre were involved! What a difference it has made though 👌🏻We are really happy with the end result.
