From an idea… to a completely bespoke motorised roof system in Mallorca. 🇪🇸
Definitely one of the more unusual projects we've taken on at DBDean — and personally, a real career highlight.
We were approached with a challenge at this property in El Toro, Mallorca: create a glazed roof system that would provide access from inside the property directly onto the roof terrace.
There wasn't an off-the-shelf product for what was required.
So we designed one.
From the aluminium framework and glazing through to developing the motorised opening system, this was designed and manufactured completely from scratch by DBDean.
Once fabrication and testing were complete, the system was transported from the UK to Mallorca. We then flew out to carry out the installation, using craneage and our vacuum lifting equipment to position the large glazed sections onto the roof.
The finished result is a fully motorised glazed roof box that opens to provide access onto the terrace — while maximising natural light into the space below when closed.
A challenging project, a completely new product for us, and one we're incredibly proud to have delivered.
