Made a mess of the Bren gun on the Chindit - none of my normal gun metal recipes were working and then I made the mistake of trying metallics. I got the same result that I always get! Have removed the main body of the weapon and will reprint it along with a few practice pieces.

Slow but steady progress on the AC Models Chindit. Some targeted shading and pin lining with some chromatic blacks on the lower half. Have also added some highlights to the flesh areas. Fun bringing the sculpt to life.

Any of you that have followed me for a while won’t be surprised that I’ve restarted a project as I was getting close to the end. For as long as I’ve been painting DPM I’ve been struggling with my palette. Eventually I’ve got something that will do but never really happy. This weekend I found a reference picture that closely mirrors what I’m after and I’ve had a shot at recreating it. I’ve not nailed it yet but I’m getting there.

I’m pondering putting a thin ochre ish glaze over to boost the saturation and add a little shading. More experimenting to follow.

Basework done on my latest Concept Miniatures Falklands project. 1/24 figure of Lt Col H Jones.

Started with an airbrushed base and have added brush highlights and pin lining. All of that will be reinforced after the DPM camouflage pattern goes down.
