Shocked and saddened to learn that so many MPs have voted down the implementation of Grenfell inquiry reforms.
Fire safety is so important and such a complex design aspect, particularly in larger buildings.
I do not know all the particulars of the situation but really hope there is sound reasoning behind their decisions.
Thoughts are with friends and families who lost loved ones and are seemingly being failed by their government.

House extension proposal to create open plan living space.
This is a very popular request for house extensions as the majority of older buildings were designed to have separate rooms.
Because of changes in our lifestyles, and with the kitchen being the hub of the home, opening up the living, dining and kitchen spaces helps bring the family together at peak times of the day.

Images from a concept scheme I designed for an alternative shopping hub on unused land in Chichester.
Designed for independent retailers and makers with small 'pop-up' style units to keep costs low for tenants whilst providing clean modern premises.
The units are modular, pre-fabricated off site and could be dismantled to be used again elsewhere if required.
The idea was to create a community between the tenants and bring together the public and retailers by adding interaction points throughout the scheme.

Sketch proposal of latest house extension proposal.
Creating a 3D / perspective image really helps both designer and client fully understand the proposals as not everyone finds plans the easiest to understand.
When this is then translated into the 3D model with the ability to walk through, it ensures the client doesn't end up with any (unwanted) surprises once the building is constructed.
