Coastal Community Cupboard The Coastal Community Cupboard was launched it 2021 and is part of the Lyme Regis Development Trust. And so Coastal Community Cupboard was born!

Our purpose is to support the local community's wellbeing (physical, mental, economical) through our community projects. Coastal Community Cupboard was launched in 2021 as the home for all the wellbeing centered projects of the charity, Lyme Regis Development Trust. Although the Trust's focus is the social and economic wellbeing of the Lyme Regis, because the Trust are involved in so many differen

t areas, it felt important to provide a special umbrella for all of the initiatives that deal with aims directly. Currently we have 5 projects that sit in this area.
⭐️ The Seaside Store - our social supermarket.
⭐️ The Old School House - our community cafe.
⭐️ The Hub Warm Space - a open door session for anyone trying to manage the cost of heating their home.
⭐️ The Welcome Cafe - Lyme Regis monthly meetup to help combat loneliness and isolation.
⭐️ Cake & Cuppa - Charmouth monthly meetup to help combat loneliness and isolation. With so many projects going on, there are a lot of opportunities to get involved and be part of the community. Please download the VOLUNTEER FORM from our pinned post and send back to us at [email protected]

HOW TO DONATE FOOD

Every penny received goes towards keeping the store operating. This involves paying Fareshare for our weekly delivery which is mostly fresh produce and keeping the store cupboard stocked with essentials such as tinned and packaged items. Week on week this can be a challenge and we rely on the generosity of our community to help keep our cupboard full. FOOD WE CONSTANTLY RUN SHORT OF:

​WHERE ARE OUR COLLECTION POINTS? The Hub, Church St, Lyme Regis. Mondays 1pm – 3.30pm or Tuesdays 9am – 1pm. St Andrews Church, Charmouth. Our collection box is situated inside the church door. The church is open every day until 5pm.

Every Monday, the Seaside Store at The Hub provides affordable food and household essentials to people and families who need a little extra support.

For many in our community, the Seaside Store is more than just a place to shop.. it's a lifeline. It helps stretch tight budgets, reduces food waste, and ensures that nobody has to face difficult times alone.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this support, please remember that the Seaside Store is here every week at The Hub. Everyone is treated with dignity, respect and a warm welcome.

Together, we can help make sure that support is available when it's needed the most.

We've also got plenty in our freezer today; Haagen Daaz ice cream, chips, potato croquettes, frozen vegetables, quoin sausages and more!

Great delivery at today!

We've had a fantastic delivery and our fridge, freezers and cupboard is all well stocked!

In the freezer you can find; Breaded Chicken, Pizza, Fish Fingers, Frozen Vegetables & Quorn Sausages & Quorn Burgers.

Pop in, say hello to the volunteers and take a look at what's available. Stock can move quickly, so don't leave it too long if there's something you'd like. Some of our customers pop in at the end to help us with the surplus stock.

Open tomorrow as usual from 9.30am-2pm. Been busy baking today so lots of tasty treats including carrot and ginger soup with home made Irish wheaten bread, our famous cheese scones and a delicious coffee and walnut cake. This is as well as our normal menu - all day breakfasts, toasted and fresh sandwiches. All this at a price that won’t break the bank so pop in and see us in the Hub, Church St in Lyme between 930am - 2pm tomorrow 😋😋

With the store opening in 15 minutes, we thought we’d give you an insight into what’s in store today

We’ve a wonderful donation of pastries and bread from Tesco 🥐

You can find fresh fruit and vegetables, a brilliant selection of ambient and canned products from our store cupboard and breaded chicken pieces, veggie burgers and veggie sausage pattys and fish fingers in our freezer (plus more!)

Open as usual from 3-5pm today we have strawberries, lemons, bananas, carrots and onions. In the chiller there is custard, a selection of cheese, bacon and oat milk. In the freezer there is breaded chicken pieces, fish fingers, peas, veggie burgers, veggie sausage patties, and sausages! Back again and almost ready to open the doors (from 3pm).

This space has always been about COMMUNITY, creating a place where people feel welcome, supported, and able to find something that makes a difference to their lives at home.

We’re especially focused on making sure items go where they’ll be truly appreciated and help those in our community that really would benefit from the support.

THE SEASIDE STORE
Open as usual today at 3 pm great selection of fresh produce - oranges, bananas, blackberries, mushrooms, cabbages and spring onions! In the chiller there is lime and chilli chicken snacks, halloumi, double cream and protein drinks. In the freezer there is chicken pieces, pizza, sausages vegetarian burgers and a few other bits an pieces. Lovely day so get down to the Hub between 3-5pm today - plenty to go around!
