Really proud to have had the chance to give something back

We recently had the pleasure of carrying out a recovering job on this polytunnel for Andy, who does incredible work raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. This tunnel will now be used by patients, creating a space for them to grow plants, spend time together, and find a bit of peace during difficult times.

Andy also runs a plant sale every year and has raised over £175,000 for Macmillan – an incredible achievement that deserves a lot of recognition 👏

We’re all about giving back where we can and helping charities and good causes when they’re in need of a hand.

Cancer touches so many lives, and charities like Macmillan are there when people need them most. If this small gesture can help Andy continue his fundraising and bring people together, then it’s more than worth it.

🔧 Recent job completed in Donegal 🔧

We recently carried out work for Green Pastures Creamery, fitting a new cover and replacing timbers on this polytunnel.

The tunnel will continue to be used for storage, keeping equipment and materials protected from the Donegal weather. A big plus point with polytunnels like this is that no planning permission is needed and there are no rates to pay, making them a very cost-effective way to create extra storage space.

Always good to give an existing structure a new lease of life rather than replacing it completely.

🌱 Polytunnel Projects in Progress! 🚜

Good progress being made across two locations as we continue working on improving growing facilities.

In County Cork, a second-hand polytunnel is currently being assembled for an organic farmer. Reusing a tunnel like this is a great sustainable option, giving the structure a second life while providing a protected space for growing organic crops. Once completed, it will help extend the growing season and protect plants from Ireland’s unpredictable weather.

Meanwhile in Kilkenny, another polytunnel is being carefully dismantled so it can be relocated and rebuilt elsewhere. The structure is being taken down section by section before being transported to its new site.

Two more polytunnels up and finished! 💪🌿
Built using high tensile galvanised steel hoops with Tanalith pressure-treated timbers, and everything properly secured — ground pins and door frames concreted in for maximum stability. 🏗️

30ft by 118ft and a 30ft by 30ft completed✅

This customer came to us looking a strong, robust structure. Something that will hold up every day life on the farm and the harsh weather conditions.💪🏻

We got him in contact with JF Mckenna, and as always they provided the best quality materials.

Each hoop and braces are made from high tensile galvanised steel.

All timbers provided are made from tanalith pressure treated timbers.

This customer also asked us to clad both tunnels with 5ft boards.

This customer opted for a polytunnel for a number of reasons.
1. There a fraction of the price of a shed
2. No planning permission needed
3. Much better airflow
