☀️ Warm weather warning for newly laid tarmac driveways ☀️

With temperatures rising, it’s worth remembering that your driveway surface can become significantly hotter than the air temperature.

For example:🌡️ If the air temperature is 22°C, a dark tarmac surface in direct sunlight can reach 40–50°C🌡️ On a 28°C day, surface temperatures can exceed 50–60°C

This is because black tarmac absorbs and retains heat extremely efficiently.

Even when your driveway has been laid using SMA (Stone Mastic Asphalt) — one of the most durable tarmac finishes available — high surface temperatures can temporarily soften the upper surface while it continues to fully cure.

This is why dry steering should always be avoided.

Dry steering is when you turn your wheels while stationary, causing the tyres to scrub and twist against the surface.

In warmer conditions, this can lead to:

⚠️ Tyre scuffing⚠️ Surface movement⚠️ Surface churning⚠️ Premature wear to a newly laid finish

To protect your driveway:✔ Keep your vehicle moving slowly when manoeuvring✔ Avoid turning the wheel while stationary✔ Take extra care during hotter parts of the day✔ Be mindful during the first few weeks after installation

Where needed, a light application of kiln-dried sand can help reduce friction between the tyre and surface, helping to prevent the tarmac from churning during warm conditions while the surface continues to cure.

A little extra care during warm weather helps your driveway cure properly and keeps it looking its best for years to come.

The air temperature might feel mild — but your driveway surface could be far hotter than you realise.

☀️Enjoy your bank holiday weekend☀️

✨ Another stunning transformation completed in Padiham ✨

We removed this tired, uneven Indian stone patio and replaced it with a clean, modern resin surface that completely transforms the space 🙌

The old patio had become uneven, dated, and difficult to maintain. By starting from the ground up, we’ve created a smooth, seamless finish that not only looks incredible but is also durable, low maintenance, and practical all year round.

The light resin finish works perfectly with the property stonework, giving the whole garden a brighter, more contemporary feel while keeping plenty of character.

✅ Removed uneven Indian stone
✅ Fresh modern resin finish
✅ Smooth & durable surface
✅ Low maintenance
✅ Complete garden transformation
