What a beautiful month! So many flowers are blooming, lawns are lush, fruits are starting to show and everything is so green in the gardens.
I've been doing lots of lawn mowing, weeding and helping the gardens move from spring into summer. I've planted my own cutting garden and have been creating hanging baskets and pots for some of my customers.
I'm still sowing seeds, and looking forward to all the gorgeous summer blooms 🌻

If you have a lawn, why not leave some areas wild ? A quick lawn mow in Canford Cliffs today in between the rain 🌧

On these mega hot days please make sure you put water out for the wildlife in your garden. A dish with a few stones in is all you need to keep birds and insects cool and hydrated.

Ground level water dishes are also really important for hedgehogs. 💦

With the hot weather incoming it's a really good time to mulch borders and pots.
I have a fantastic local supplier of well-rotted woodchip that I sell by the bag.
Adding a quality mulch will lock in moisture reducing the amount of watering needed, feed the soil and keep down weeds.

A beautiful month where my gardens and the woodlands and hedgerows have been exploding with life. Birds and insects are everywhere and the flowers and blossom have been glorious 🌸

Where its been so dry I've been able to do a lot of lawn care with scarifying and seed sowing to get lawns in good shape for the summer. Though now we're in May I'm hoping a few of my customers will adopt No Mow May so we can provide more habitats for birds and insects.

I've been sowing lots of flower seeds in gardens and letting some areas be wild, trying to leave areas undisturbed for the insects to make their nests.

A good spring job is mulching. I've been adding well rotted woodchip to borders to keep moisture locked in, feed the soil and reduce the weeding!
