Look at these beauties! I’ve just had a load of pink granite kerbstones into the yard. These are reclaimed and not easy to get ahold of.

Rough hewn, approximately 6x12”, average of 2.5ft long. Running length of about 60ft for the whole batch.

Today I’ve just had the first load back from a very exciting project- a small cottage that has been demolished!

This is an ongoing project, the cottage was made from 65mm handmade bricks, which are currently being sorted through. There is a small amount of other things, including some lovely brindle quarry tiles, glazed rope edgings etc.

We will have 5-10,000 bricks available in the next couple of months. A big thank you to Sam Twining Plant, it wouldn’t have been possible without his lovely machines and hard work!

A few of the interesting things we’ve had in the yard this week… garden edgings are flying out at the minute!

I’ve also got these really unusual “egg and dart” corbel bricks, which were originally used on the top course on a wall, often seen on old terraced houses. Plus, a batch of these nice white glazed bricks!

Sometimes, you just need some extra muscle to get the job done! These sandstone steps are about 250kg each!

These beautiful stones have been delivered to one of our repeat customers, and they will make an absolutely stunning set of steps in the garden… Getting them there will be interesting though!

A few interesting bits in this week- buff crown chimney pots, we don’t see them very often now!

This pallet of red bricks has been sold before I even finished sorting them!

Plus, I thought this quarry tile was interesting- somebody, at some point in history has lined the floor with newspaper! You can see the remnants of a car.

Wood, wood and MORE WOOD!

We collected a huge load of hardwood yesterday, and the shed is full! We’ve had to rearrange some things, and put new racks up to store it all! There is a great variety here including:

Oak
Ash
Spalted beech
Yew (lots of it!)
Acacia
Sycamore
Lime
Chestnut
Apple
Cherry
Elm

There’s even a full load waiting to go into the kiln, so in a few weeks the shed will be bursting at the seams!!
