Now that Spring is in full swing and the sun is shining again it’s a great time to give your home some seasonal TLC!

10 top tips for spring home maintenance check looks like:

✅Inspecting the roof for any damage during winter ( Roofs are often overlooked!)
✅Checking your AC before summer starts
✅Clean /repair garden furniture
✅Check window seals for residue
✅Clean gutters to prevent any water damage
✅Test Smoke alarms/ CO detectors
✅Clean out vents of your dryer
✅Check for any new holes, cracks, entry points for pests
✅Adjust your thermostat to suit Spring temperatures

I did everything 'right'.

I went to university, got a 2:1 Business with French Degree, worked in the city, climbed the corporate ladder... I met my husband, we lived abroad and experienced a completely different lifestyle....

As soon we became parents our worlds turned upside down and inside out.

"Becoming a mother leaves no woman as it found her. It unravels her. It rebuilds her. It cracks her open, takes her to her edges. It is both beautiful and brutal often at the same time" Nikki McCahon.

'Matrescence' they call it. When you become a mother, a massive shift of identity, beliefs, wants and desires takes place which is messy, emotional and transformative. And often not spoken about.

It is also beautiful. They are our heartbeats. They are our legacy.

I have also always wanted to work for myself since I was 12 years old and tried and failed MANY times.

Since becoming a parent I have had to give up my job. Twice. Due to lack of flexibility and childcare costs leaving our income unstable, stressful and uncertain.

Flexibility is a lifeline for working parents but is still a struggle to find.

Childcare costs are excruciatingly expensive and unattainable for most working parents.

But working for ourselves we can look after our children without being penalised with painful costs. We can be present and we can earn a living with integrity.

We can juggle our family commitments and build something for the future with care and compassion because it means something. I want my children to look back and say: " You did it! with all the odds stacked against you, you still came out on top. She's unstoppable so I can be too".

We can also help other families with the upkeep of their home at an affordable cost.

My husband and I are the face of the business.

We are the target market we wish to attract and understand the juggles and struggles of family life and the pressure to maintain a home. As a duo we can combine our skills and passions to provide an affordable solution to the upkeep of home repairs and beyond to a high standard.

My husband’s late father was an exceptional Carpenter and could make anything with his hands from scratch. Being of Nigerian Igbo heritage they often built their own houses in the village and maintained their own homes. When my husband settled in the UK we realised his natural talent at ‘fixing things’ as he first worked as labourer on site.

He was soon promoted to Handyman and worked with local councils to repair things in the homes of communities around London. Many residents were surprised at not only his good work but how caring, passionate and honest he was and often complained that people don’t usually care about how things are fixed. He was soon hired for private work and has built up a small client base.

With my burning entrepreneurial spirit, and my background in high level customer service, marketing and graphic design we make the perfect team.

Our shared passion for not only helping others but a dream to sustain flexible working around our children eventually leaving a family legacy.
