Those of you who have visited our Darwen Studio material sample library may recognise one of Design Director Andy's hand-drawn sketches, dating all the way back to the late 1980s — created for an 'Alien'-themed nightclub project in Greater Manchester.

Almost 40 years later, we've beamed it into 2026 as a full CGI visual... we hope you enjoy seeing the transformation.

One project we have been reflecting on with particular pride lately is the Clifton Arms Hotel.

It was a project that involved our whole team — from design and material specification right through to project management on site — and one where we felt the final result truly reflected the effort and care that went into every stage.

We were delighted when the work was recognised at Mixology North 2021, where it was awarded Hotel Interiors Project of the Year, and humbled to see it reach the finalist stages of both the Mixology North/UK and Northern Design Awards in the years that followed.

For a studio of our size, that kind of recognition means a great deal. Projects like Clifton Arms are a reminder of what is possible when a team works together from start to finish with a shared commitment to getting it right.

Since then, we've gone on to refurbish every guest bedroom in the Hotel, breathing new life into each space.
