What a privilege to get the chance to have a sneak peak before the main opening of Gardeners World Live yesterday at the Birmingham NEC
A long drive from Devon was worth it to see some beautiful borders, gardens, plants & to catch up with other passionate planty people & to have some great hugs from the amazing Jayne Hickling | MCI Hort | Garden Media | Content Creator and K I M O’ B R I E N 🌸 Dahlia gardener | Garden design inspo 😊
I’m very tempted to apply to design a beautiful border next year to celebrate the shows and my 60th year!!
The show is on till Sunday so do pop along if you get the chance.

With some hectic weeks ahead we took a much needed two days off -grid trip to ….Devon!
Yes, I live in Devon but it’s such an amazing county to spend quiet time in with places where there is absolutely no mobile signal!

Just 1 day on the coast with white beaches to ourselves & then when the sea mists swirled in we headed inland to the beautiful & rugged landscape of Dartmoor - all just 11/2 hours drive from home - so easy to forget what’s on your doorstep - must remember to do this more - breathe 💚

Who else can relate?

I was so looking forward to my 1st year growing snapdragons as a cut flower and was so excited when all the seeds germinated so quickly and grew so strongly in the 1st few weeks.
I lovingly tended them during the chilly spring- fantasising about big bouquets billowing in vases, envy on my friends faces….only to realise I’d sown a dwarf variety that took me back to my bedding days as a park keeper🙄

I really should know better by now- always read the seed packet, don’t just fall in love with the picture!

Still- always next year…anyone else feel my pain?
