Just finished an exciting garage conversion project in Borrowash, Derby! 🛠️✨ The customer had been using their garage purely for storage but wanted to transform it into a functional space for hobbies and work. 🎨🧑🔧
We started by replacing the old personnel security door with a modern one, complete with built-in blinds. 🚪 We also cut out brickwork to install a brand-new personnel door, giving the space a more practical and stylish entrance. For better lighting and ventilation, we upgraded the window to a sleek UPVC tilt and turn model. 🪟
With the groundwork done, we focused on insulation—removing two courses of brickwork to make room for full wall insulation, ensuring the space meets building regulations. 🧱 The entire room was rewired with new electrics, including an updated electric board and four electric sockets for easy access. ⚡ We also installed 4 spotlights in the newly plastered ceiling for perfect lighting. 💡
To make sure the room stays cozy all year round, we insulated the roof and installed a new electric radiator. 🔥 The floor wasn’t left behind—it’s fully insulated and screeded to meet building regulations, making the space comfortable and practical.
Walls were fully boarded and plastered, giving a fresh, smooth finish, making it ready for the customer to use for both work and leisure. 🎯 It’s now a warm, well-lit, and functional room, perfect for their hobbies and any work projects they have in mind.
