And that’s a wrap!!

This boiler was the last one installed for this year. A Worcester Compact, along with a Hive Smart Thermostat.

Now time to take a short break to recover, before smashing 2026.

If your heating or hot water isn’t working as it should there’s a possibility that your zone valve or mid position valve is faulty.

This customer had a crack in their kitchen sink and it needed replacing.
They chose a new ceramic sink and matching mixer tap.
The worktop was cut out to accommodate the new sink, and a new waste pipe and traps were also fitted.

This customer already had a Hive smart thermostat, but they wanted more control over their heating.
I fitted smart TRVs to most of their radiators, so they can now control them individually from their phone.

I attended a breakdown the other week to an oil boiler not firing. after checking the usual filters, fire valve, etc. It was apparent there was a blockage in the oil line. Unable to clear it with compressed air, I cut into the pipe. I certainly didn't expect to find it completely frozen solid!!
Water removed, and a temporary oil line in place got this customers heat back on fairly quickly.

This cylinder was an absolute beast!! The original cylinder had failed and was leaking, and needed to be replaced.
Just getting it out was a logistical challenge!
Massive thanks to Danny the customer who helped wrestle it down the stairs.

Unvented cylinders should be serviced every year, as they contain several safety devices that need to be tested. If these fail, or are installed correctly, you could effectively have a ticking time bomb on your hands.

Make sure your heating engineer is ‘G3’ compliant, a qualification required to work on unvented cylinders.

This customer was left with no heating or hot water after their boiler heat exchanger sprung a leak and blew the electrics.

Luckily I was able to move a couple of jobs around and fit this boiler in at short notice.
