From bungalow to chalet-style family home ✨

This design proposal reimagines a 3-bedroom bungalow into a spacious 4-bedroom chalet, tailored for modern family living.

The ground floor centres around a generous open-plan kitchen, dining and living space, creating a seamless connection to the garden. At first floor level, a vaulted master suite provides a private retreat, complete with a walk-in wardrobe, luxury ensuite and dedicated seating area.

Working within a constrained site, challenged by overlooking neighbours and tapered boundaries, the design carefully balances scale, privacy and functionality. By extending the eaves and reconfiguring the internal layout, we’ve achieved the character and proportions of a traditional chalet-style bungalow.

Natural materials play a key role in the design, with timber-framed elements, timber soffits and fascias adding warmth and texture.

Now for the big question... 👇

Do you prefer the clean lines of horizontal timber cladding or the timeless character of shingle cladding?

Planning approved ✔️

A complete reimagining of a modest 2-bed chalet into a generous 4-bedroom family home.

The proposal introduces a new roof configuration to create a pair of balanced gables, giving the house a strong, symmetrical presence while unlocking significant additional accommodation at first floor.

To the rear, a traditional orangery forms a light-filled, open-plan kitchen, living and family space with a direct connection to the garden.

An integrated garage is carefully woven into the composition, maintaining a calm and cohesive street presence.

The architecture draws on a restrained, timeless palette of natural timber, brick, render and clay tiles, paired with soft heritage-style windows to create a warm, crafted and enduring character.

A considered blend of tradition and modern family living. What do you think?

Planning granted 🏡

We’ve just received approval for this bungalow revamp, introducing a new roof over the existing garage with front-facing dormers to create two additional bedrooms for a growing family.

The proposed front elevation brings a clean, contemporary take on a classic pitched-roof form. Symmetrical dormers, generous glazing, and a mix of render with vertical timber cladding create a balanced, light-filled façade.

A contemporary take on traditional materials, combining brick, lead, clay and timber to create something both timeless and modern. Highlights include a striking floating staircase, a double-height vaulted hallway, and expansive glazing that frames views out across the surrounding fields.

Ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend, we’re delighted to have secured full planning approval for new commercial offices in the heart of Wimborne.

The scheme replaces an unused outbuilding with a thoughtfully designed part two-storey, part single-storey office, carefully nestled within a residential setting.

Drawing on traditional materials and detailing, the design features deep soffit overhangs, traditional windows, slate roofing, heritage brick, and natural timber elements.

We’re looking forward to bringing this project to life on site.

This was a fast-paced, collaborative team project turned around within a week.

Our proposal for Moors Valley reimagined an underutilised and unwelcoming community structure into a vibrant, accessible hub for public use. The scheme explored an ambitious vision to expand the building footprint and unlock the site’s full potential.

The design focused on improving wayfinding and user experience, creating a clear journey from arrival to exit through architecture, material, colour and light. Key moves included enhanced openings and circulation routes to support accessibility, alongside a covered courtyard designed to encourage gathering and social interaction.

Sustainability was embedded throughout, with photovoltaic panels, considered lighting and planting strategies enriching the overall visitor experience.

Sunlight, space, and seamless flow. 🌿☀️

This kitchen and dining space is designed around one idea: letting natural light lead the architecture. Three large skylights wash the room in soft daylight from above, while the large-format sliding doors dissolve the boundary between inside and out.

When the openings slide away, the interior spills effortlessly into the garden, turning everyday living into an indoor-outdoor experience. Light, air, and landscape become part of the room.

The result is a space that feels calm, open, and deeply connected to its surroundings.

Would you keep the doors open all summer? 🌿

A 1950s bungalow, reimagined.

Twin gables carved into the roof with recessed balconies, paired with a clean flat roof extension that frames the garden elevation. Full height glazing connects a generous family living space to the south facing garden, while timber soffits and chevron cladding add warmth and texture to a crisp, minimal exterior.

Imagine the sunsets from this balcony 🌅

Perched in a stunning coastal setting overlooking Hengistbury Head, this chalet bungalow has been thoughtfully reimagined to make the most of its incredible views. A light-filled layout, enlarged glazing, and a calmer material palette strengthen the connection between inside and out, inviting natural sunlight deep into the home and creating an easy, coastal sense of flow.
