MEET THE COMPETITORS πΎ
Katy Cropper needs little introduction! The Shap shepherdess was the first woman to win One Man and His Dog, and she's heading to Huntington Farm with her seven-year-old collie Jacobsdale Gin to represent England in the World Trial.
The last time Katy qualified for the Worlds, in 2002, she never made it to the post. As the tannoy announced on the day: "Katy can't run her dog today, because she's in Shrewsbury Hospital having her baby!"
Twenty-four years on, she's back, this time with Jacobsdale Gin, a pup she bought from Ireland at eight weeks old. Katy said: "I fell in love with her at first sight. She comes everywhere with me. She won her first sheepdog trial when she was 12 months old. We are just so in tune together; she knows exactly what I'm thinking."
Katy and Gin told their full story to their local paper ahead of the World Trial. You'll find a link to the article in the comments below.
