Your time is precious, your garden should give some of it back. 🌿

As a garden designer, one of the most powerful things you can do is zone your space with intention.

A garden should never be just one open expanse, it should unfold in purposeful chapters.

• Create a wellbeing zone for unhurried mornings and a reset between meetings.
• Position a seating area where you can pause with a coffee and still watch the children play.
• Shape sun traps that capture the very best of the light.
• Tuck elegant seating into green enclaves where birdsong does the slowing down for you.

When life moves quickly, a beautifully designed garden isn’t just a luxury, it’s where the moments that matter are protected.

"The conditions of this coastal project were challenging, but the result feels calm, textural and beautifully balanced. Especially with the olive trees adding those subtle architectural accents."

One of our Consilium Hortus projects has been featured in the latest Pro Landscaper magazine.

This is your sign to stop treating your garden like storage space for regretful furniture purchases.

Luxury isn’t about gold taps, it’s about morning coffee in a perfectly framed sun trap.

It’s about hosting without apologising for the uneven paving.

It’s about walking outside and thinking, yes, this is intentional.

Be honest now... which corner of your current garden needs redemption?

You’ve done the research. You know your grills. You care about heat control. You have strong views on pizza ovens.

For you, an outdoor kitchen isn’t a gimmick, it’s the main event!

A built-in grill. A fridge within reach. Lighting that keeps the evening going. No running back inside. No missing the conversation.

Just good kit, good food, and a full table of friends.

Oh, and someone close by to top up your beer, right?

Exactly as it should be. Cheers! 🍻

🌿 An honest question…

Is your garden truly living up to your home?

We’re often told to focus on the positives.

But when it comes to your surroundings, “pleasant” isn’t the same as exceptional.

Is your outdoor space…
• Expansive, yet underutilised?
• Beautiful, but lacking atmosphere?
• Functional, but not experiential?

Perhaps it’s missing something more intentional:
• A sauna retreat for winter evenings
• A pool or swim spa with boutique-hotel presence
• An outdoor kitchen designed for effortless entertaining
• Integrated lighting and sound that transform the mood at dusk
• A private court or wellness space woven seamlessly into the landscape

Luxury outdoors isn’t about adding features.

It’s about creating an environment that reflects how you live.

So tell us:
• What feels underwhelming?
• What feels unfinished?
• What doesn’t match the calibre of the home it surrounds?

🌿 Comment below and we’ll share how we would elevate it.

Because extraordinary homes deserve landscapes to match.

A lot of our clients come to us wanting a beautiful garden, but not one that demands constant attention.

And that’s a very reasonable ask.

The reality is that even the most low-maintenance garden needs some care.

The difference is whether that care feels manageable and seasonal, or like a never-ending list of jobs. That’s where considered design makes all the difference.

In February, a thoughtfully designed, low-maintenance garden usually only asks for:

• A light tidy. Removing anything damaged, while keeping structure and seed heads in place
• A quick check that mulch is doing its job
• Re-firming plants after frost
• Protecting tender plants only when cold snaps are forecast
• A slow walk around the garden to observe what’s working and what isn’t

No big interventions. No ad-hoc fixes. Just calm, seasonal attention.

Good garden design isn’t about adding more. It’s about creating a space that works beautifully over time, with maintenance that feels realistic for how you actually live.
