The JPI design team spent a lovely day on site in Edinburgh recently ✨

We were having one of our latest projects photographed in the Trinity area of Edinburgh.🤍

It is always rewarding to see a project through to its final stage and capture all the details that have gone into creating the space.

We are also very pleased to introduce Heather, who has joined Jane Perfect Interiors as a Design Assistant. She has already become a valuable part of the design team, and we are delighted to have her on board.

More from this beautiful home coming soon.

Thoughtfully updating a period home is rarely about removing everything and starting again. More often, it is about layering new elements alongside existing pieces to create a space that feels timeless and personal. 🕯️

For the dining room in this Georgian country property, we created a dramatic yet elegant space centred around a panoramic printed linen wallcovering, chosen in response to our clients’ love of rich blues, deep teals and atmospheric interiors. The scenic wallpaper creates an immersive backdrop that feels both striking and timeless.

Existing features, including the original carpet and antique dining chairs, were carefully retained and reimagined within the new scheme, bringing character and authenticity to the space. A sculptural brass twig floor lamp adds a final layer of warmth and texture.

Installing panoramic wallcoverings within period properties requires enormous care and precision, and our trusted renovation partners, Dovetail Renovations, carried out the installation beautifully.

A richly layered room designed to feel atmospheric, elegant and deeply personal. ✨

This corner in the snug of a country home we recently designed began with a painting.🎨

The moment we saw it, we knew everything else in the room had to quietly orbit around it. Those deep, inky blues and flashes of colour set the tone for everything that followed.

The customised sofa was upholstered in a warm herringbone wool in the softest muted teal, grounding and timeless, with just enough texture to echo that gentle country feel without slipping into cliché. The lamp followed, a cut crystal base in a beautiful amethyst tone, with exquisite detail that catches the light.

Layer by layer, the story unfolded, with delicate floral curtains in printed linen softening the space and a bespoke marble topped table with a bronze frame adding a quiet contrast. The cushions bring a nod to tradition with subtle plaid, paired with a rich raspberry velvet for an unexpected lift of colour.

It is the mix that makes it, marble, wool, velvet and glass, each material bringing its own voice while creating something that feels completely at ease.

Design should tell a story and we feel grateful to help translate that into spaces that feel personal, layered and truly lived in.✨

There is something quietly magical about a forgotten corner finally being seen. ✨

This little spot in a Georgian country home had all the bones, soft light, gentle angles and a beautiful sense of stillness, but it needed a story. We layered it piece by piece, introducing a demi-moon console to anchor the space, a turquoise ceramic lamp that catches the light, and a bespoke fringed cushion in herringbone wool to bring warmth and texture.

From there, the details began to come together, an antique mirror reflecting soft afternoon shadows, Roman blinds in a fabric that feels perfectly at home and a subtle mix of textures, wood, linen, ceramic and velvet, working together with ease.

It is never about one statement piece. It is about the conversation between them, the melange of colour, texture and light that turns a corner into a moment.

This is why we love what we do, because sometimes bringing a space to life is about listening to what it has been waiting to become. 🤍

A little before and after moment from our Melrose project. 🤍

What started as a beautiful but quite empty drawing room is now a soft, layered space full of warmth and personality.

We kept the character of the room front and centre, from the original fireplace to the delicate decorative frieze that runs around the room, one of those details you might miss at first glance, but which makes all the difference.

We then introduced gentle layers of colour, texture and pattern, including a plaid upholstered fender around the fire, perfect for adding comfort and a relaxed, country feel.

It is now one of those rooms that simply feels right the moment you walk in.

A little glimpse into this Leith penthouse.✨

Working closely with our international clients, the brief was simple to create a calm, minimal and sophisticated space to truly unwind. We kept the design clean and contemporary, while layering in warmth, texture and bespoke details to ensure it felt inviting and lived in.

From the flexible dining and entertaining space to the bespoke joinery housing an extensive whisky collection, every element was thoughtfully considered.

All finished with a private terrace and beautiful sea views, the perfect place to switch off.

Before, during and after.🪴

Not everything needs to be replaced to create a beautifully considered space. In this Scottish Borders home, we kept the original bath and globe taps, with the scheme thoughtfully developed around them through layered colour, texture and carefully selected details.

The result is a calm and characterful bathroom that feels timeless, with a quiet sense of luxury.

Would you choose to retain original features or start fresh?

Working closely with trusted suppliers is an essential part of what we do at Jane Perfect Interiors.🪴

These relationships allow us to source beautiful, high-quality materials and create bespoke pieces that feel truly considered and unique to each project.

For this scheme, the G.P. & J. Baker ‘Ikat Bokhara’ print was selected and crafted into bespoke cushions, introducing a rich layer of pattern and colour to the space.

By working collaboratively and sourcing the right materials, we are able to create pieces that feel both personal and perfectly suited to the overall design.
