Wendy is a Scottish designer of home interior products. She graduated in fashion from The Scottish College of Textiles and immediately gained recognition from her peers as a talented designer, producing top selling products for well known brands. After working as a freelance fashion designer for several years, a commission opportunity arose introducing Wendy to the world of bespoke carpet design. A debut collection was well received, with Vitality, a vibrant design in reds inspired by the incredible Australian outback, selected as a finalist for a top industry award. Rug Design Company was formed in 2004 and re-branded to Wendy Morrison Design in 2013.

There’s something so deeply personal about being invited into someone’s home. It tells you so many wonderful, unspoken things about them, and it’s a pleasure we’re lucky enough to experience quite regularly (even if that is virtually), one we certainly never take for granted. 💛

From that very first contact to seeing a rug settled so perfectly into her new home, it’s a truly special thing to witness.

And Birdsong Yellow? We think she’s looking just wonderful. 💛

There is something quite magical about seeing Geisha Florals come to life, knot by knot, before making her journey across the world.

A celebration of colour, storytelling and craftsmanship, created slowly and with love.

And to see her now sitting so beautifully at Sharon’s bedroom altar feels incredibly special.🙏

One of the things we love most about what we do is the time, patience and incredible skill that goes into creating each of our rugs. 💜

A hand-knotted rug can take months to bring to life, and our A Mughal Painting is a wonderful example of this. With an extraordinary 150 knots per square inch, each piece takes around five months to weave by hand, as our incredibly talented artisans bring every beautiful detail to life.

Every so often, we have a very special piece that is ready to find its home, without the wait.

Our hand-knotted A Mughal Painting, woven in wool and silk, is one such piece. Available now in 244 × 335 cm (8 × 11 ft), she is a truly special rug.
