What a job this was!
Back in February we tackled these two monster Leylandii Cypress conifer trees in Bury St Edmunds. With not great access due to a very awkwardly placed wall, we had to drag every bit about 20m just for it to be processed.
After countless tractor loads of wood chippings we finally got them down.
There was pristine lawn right around these two trees so we wanted to reduce the ground impact as much as possible, we did this by using a lot of track mats.
The wood was then cut into machine sized bits and we got a grab lorry In to clear.

Great effort by everyone on this job and a very happy client. 🌲 🌳

Haven’t posted for a while so thought I’d let you all know some of the work we have been undertaking recently!

This job in Lawshall the client had a lovely apple tree in which had been left for years and unfortunately split down the middle. Instead of felling the tree, we decided to pollard it to try and retain it. With the weight out of the limbs, the split soon closed up, and hopefully come spring some regrowth will form!

A job we completed recently in Bury.
The old gates were rusted and getting hard to open, plus every winter the area would flood. So we got some gates specially made from NTB Metalworks.
Then we also put in a concrete pad, complete with curb edging, to aid with the drainage towards a nearby drain.

Now the site is secure with new gates, plus no flooding from the recent downpours!

Now bird nesting season is over, we have been busy working on conifers again.
Here we took out this thick conifer hedge and replaced it with a new fence. The fence had 6ft closeboard panels, concrete slotted posts and gravel boards.
The customers were very happy that they now have a lot more of their garden back!

Here is a a job we have completed recently. The customer had requested we pollard this willow. The neighbouring beech tree had a failed limb that was resting in the willow to be pollarded. To do this safely the team used ropes to lower it to the ground preventing any damage below. We will be back to work in the beech in the next coming months.

Getting the hedge jobs done before the fast approaching nesting season begins!
First picture is of a hedge removal, with the stumps ground out, ready for a fence over the top.
Second picture is a hedge reduction, in which the owner felt that it was getting abit too tall for his garden.

Final job to end the year!
This Thuja had started to dominate the garden, and started to suppress the neighbouring trees. So we applied to fell it, as it was protected by a TPO.
We then ground out the stump afterwards.

In the new year we’ll be back to plant a replacement species, which will be more suited to the area.

That tops off a very busy year for us here at ATC.

Here is another job we undertook in the autumn. The client had just moved into the house, and wanted this Willow in his garden re pollarded, before the winter storms came in. We also advised him to strip the ivy, so we could inspect the stem properly.
