☠️ !!NOT OUR WORK - WE HAVE BEEN CALLED IN TO FIX THIS!!! ☠️

For the customers that are just desperate for us to start their work and are patiently waiting, well this total MESS is why we unfortunately can not guarantee a start date at current! This poor, poor customer has been the victim of some total cowboys. Just look at the state this roof has been left in for the last 6 months!! The job has been so poorly done, it has been growing arms and legs as we uncover each ineptitude that inevitably requires fixing.

What they paid for - stripping of the roof slates, stripping of the old membranes, stripping of the old sarking boards, re-insulating between the rafters, then finally redoing the lot! Easy peasy... right?

What they got... Partial stripping of the slates, covering up of the old membranes (and not even well done!), no new insulation added - thus no new sarking and finally an abysmal attempt at re-slating... that they did not even finish!

For those with untrained eyes. You should not see holes in your slates, you should not see nails between your slates, the green waterproof membrane paper has strict overlap criteria that was not adhered to (thus water has been able to pour into the property!!), the brown stuff below is the old membranes that was left totally intact. There was rubbish left everywhere. This is one of the WORST roofing jobs any of us have ever seen. Truly shocking. The customer is pursing legal action but the chances of success are slim...

Anyway, we are on the job now and are working with a team of other skilled tradespeople we know and adore to get this place into sorted out!

I will post a follow up post, to showcase how it should look, once we are done.

In the meatime, we have been enjoying working in a larger team once again and of couse the glorious sunshine while we work! I think roofing jobs in the good weather have to be one of our absolute favorite job types we do. Its just a shame its under such poor circumstances.

Please, please, please people check your trades peoples, portfolios, references, reviews and dont hand over all the project costs before satisfactory completion of works!

Bathroom update anyone? This was for a customer we have worked with many a time now and they did not think twice before getting us back for this little project 🥳

They wanted to utilise the space below their window better, to hide the toilets unsightly pipework, and for us to replace the existing, failed, MDF path panel. All with something more in keeping with the existing decoration, but with some splashes of character. This seemed an ideal job for the stash of local elm planks we have, and yes even in our opinion it turned out looking beautiful! 🤩

So want some custom made bits and bobs for your home? You know who to call x

Another before and after! This has been an amazing project and we hope you enjoy the transformation as much as we have enjoyed making it 🥰

The customer wanted to have an inbuilt entertainment unit built into an existing cupboard, and ideally have another symmetrical one on the other side of the chimney breast (this 2nd cupboard would require investigation works first however, s we were not 100% sure what was behind this stud wall).

Our only design requirements were that the left unit had to have a cupboard with glass doors and that there was enough shelves for all her ornaments and keepsakes and that they needed to use the hidden space also, ideally if we could do another cupboard then its lower half needed to be for logs and fireplace furniture.
The shelves will be lit by warm glow LED's too.

This was a large project and is a prime example of our work knowledge and skill, cumulatively displayed together 🥳

Hiroko built one and I built the other, and it was imperative we make them look nearly identical. There were SOOO many stages we had to strip /cut the walls, install the frames, hand cut every piece, reinforce the shelves, triple check our spirit level so often I was dreaming of them in our sleep, work alongside the sparky, make the doors, hang the doors, paint everything - including the wall after the old paint literally peeled off the wall (prime your bare plaster people or that's what happens!), plaster the walls. We even fixed the slipped slates and emptied the gutters for them as the roof needed some TLC too. My lordy, lord what a project its been, but its fab to be able to do a project from start to finish like this all ourselves and we were blessed with fantastic weather too, so we managed to do the majority of the cutting outside which is ideal.

So do you want an inbuilt unit into your homes nooks and crannies? You know who to call 😎

Out with the old and in with the new! Anyone else needing a lovley new exterior door installed and painted? Well, you know who to call! 😉

This frame previously housed a very lovley looking, but very neglected, rotten, holey single glazed, stable door. So rotten that despite being lovley, it was in need of such extensive repair that unfortunately it was deemed uneconomic to repair vs replace on this job. (Sorry ethos of !)

After going through all the various options of door the customer decided to install this lovley, new, double glazed, hardwood door instead. Now this frame once again houses a lovley door, closes and locks once again and after a good paint job both frame and door should both stand the test of time with ongoing proper maintenance 🥰

Another happy customer, and amother happy joiner as we even got to install it in the spring sunshine!

Ahhh perfect 🌞

MORE PHOTOS? 🤯 Yes, mwahahahah! 😉

This has been a part of an ongoing project with a client. They have made this fablous DIY cabin and just need a hand on certain parts of the project/some additional tiny muscle 💪🤭😂

This paticular peice of it we helped with, we are especially proud of as it was a REAL headscratcher; due to the install systems provided not quite living up to expectations shall we say... Alas we do, genuinly, adore a challange and once again. Another job done and another happy client!

Been finally able to catch up on a bunch of small jobs the last week! 🥳

The big projects hogging our time have come to a close, and soon Hiroko will be back from her month long annual leave, to come help me once again. So in the meatine enjoy yet another before and after photo. We know you love them 😉

This was our first gardening job of the year and we got a cracker of a day for it! Full of lots of sun, sea and a bit of an enjoyable diffrent pace for me for a day.

The tackling of this famous Johnshaven bush, Ta dah! Looks a bit severe, but this bad boy will shoot up to be 5ft high again by the end of the year 🤯

Who you gonna call? You know who you gonna call 😉🤣

Have a great Sunday guys!

Whats this you see? Yet another shelf install? Why yes! No job too tiny for us ☺️

We had to make sure this one was as strong as possible as its destined for some weight. To make sure it was fit for purpouse, it was tested vs my "massive weight" of 55kg and it managed beautifully 💪💪

Another tiny job done, by your local tiny joiners! 😁
