The latest visit by PEGS members to Herstmonceux Castle estate was wonderful and the rain held off thankfully. Photos show what a beautiful place it is and definitely worth a visit for those who haven’t been before.
There’s lots of fun to be enjoyed at the Pluckley Summer Fair on 21 June and PEGS are organising a competition for their stall for children to enter. It will be a very entertaining day.
A Wine and Wander evening will be held on 29 June 4-6pm hosted by Mel & Pete Rawlinson at Rock Cottage Egerton and Sonia Young next door at Squirrels Oak. Let’s hope for a sunny evening to enjoy the beautiful gardens with friends together.
This weekend you might be busy in your garden picking sweet peas, pinching out the tomato plants and dead-heading the roses. Keep sowing lettuce and beetroot seeds for succession planting. Take time to stop for a cuppa and enjoy the garden.

Our gardens are bursting into life now. I’m sharing a couple of pics of mine and it would be lovely to see photos of your garden or patio pots as we enjoy the colour returning after the winter months.
Each week I thought it might be helpful to share reminders of what needs attention in the garden. The list is very long but as a starter you might be feeding your sweet peas and roses and securing the new growth of clematis.
Enjoy time in your garden or visiting others.

PEGS members will be enjoying another garden visit on 7 June when they visit Herstmonceux Castle Estate. Some pics are attached of the beautiful castle. The friendly club has a full list of monthly planned activities so do check out the future visits and come along.

The first garden visit of 2025 to Hever Castle was a great day out and enjoyed by all. A few pics here show what a marvellous place this is with so much to see. Our next visit on 14 May is to Witch Hazel nursery to enjoy the wisteria collection. It’s sure to be another lovely day out.

PEGS enjoyed a lovely day yesterday at the Spring Show. The hall was filled with beautiful flowers and everyone had fun. Thank you to all who came and supported the event.
