Today was spent in our own garden. It does need a lot of TLC as we only moved in last winter. The privet was cut and shaped from its unkempt wild look! The farmer on our estate cuts the ivy on the wall right back so it is still looking a bit bare on top. On the inside wall it had overtaken the area so has been given a good trim. We found an old telegraph pole in there too which we cut to a better height and now the ivy surrounding it will cover it naturally. Do you need help taming things in your garden? The beginnings of a large garden project. First stage was to clear and make way for a septic to be moved. Following this the garden will be landscaped making harsh drops into more gentle slopes. We are much more than just grass cutting. Do you need help with a project?

First stage of clearing this area began this morning. The wood chips will now be used to mulch the beds. This has a number of benefits including w**d suppression, moisture retention and soil improvement. Quite a satisfying job and great to be able to use it all. We have space for one off jobs like this around our regular customers, just let us know if you need our help.

Kicked off the start of the season with this total transformation. This area of the garden was neglected and bringing no joy. Today we tackled it with the strimmer and cleared away all the overgrown grass, gorse and dockens. The area will now be cut regularly but not quite as short as a lawn apart from a winding path leading up from the gate. Wild flowers are going to be introduced along the fence and in other shaped beds so it all looks very natural and colourful. Its going to be an exciting year for this space and we can't wait to see how it matures and develops. Its a great time to start thinking about upcoming projects and if you would like our help then just get in touch

More than just grass cutting! We have a great regular customer base for grass cutting but we also take on larger jobs. This sad looking slabbed area was transformed with new patio and raised flower bed which not only provided a windbreak but was filled with fragrant scented flowers which is carried in the breeze and enjoyed while sitting out.

Let's talk dormant buds.
This morning was spent cutting this privet hedge right back and tidying up the shape. This is a good time for this to be done as underneath are tiny dormant buds. These will now get light, heat and the energy from the plant will go straight to them and before long the hedge will fill out with glossy dark green leaves. Do you have a hedge needing some care?
