The Children’s Gardening Club at Daisy Nook — J. Parker’s new community initiative to inspire the next generation of gardeners 🧑🌾
When we first opened the doors to J. Parker’s Daisy Nook Garden Centre, one of our top priorities was to get the beloved community events back on track, and finally, the Children’s Gardening Club was born.
Our free-to-attend gardening club gives children the opportunity to get gardening: learning about plants, getting hands-on gardening tutorials, and experiencing the joys of planting a tiny specimen and watching it grow. Nowadays, children have fewer and fewer opportunities to connect with nature, and we wanted to do something to change that.
With our amazing instructor, Maz Lees (), we invite children and families from the local Greater Manchester area to enjoy a morning of gardening activities. From seed sowing to deadheading, we’re teaching practical skills to make sure the green-fingered gardeners of tomorrow find a genuine love and enjoyment for gardening, as we all do.
