A recent Silver Birch fell 🪵
The tree was in poor health and the top half was completely dead. Given its position the customer decided it was best to remove the tree altogether. This allowed us the opportunity to get creative and use an advanced felling cut.
The keyhole (or key notch) felling technique is an advanced way of cutting down a tree with extra control.
It helps keep the base of the tree in place as it falls, stopping it from rolling or shifting and reducing the risk of hitting anything behind it.
This method uses a specially shaped notch that guides the tree as it comes down, making it ideal for tight spaces or when working near buildings.
