This garden was a design and build project by the Green & Gorgeous team. Working as much as possible within the sloped garden we constructed a decked area to sail out over the existing rockery. It provides a seating area with a beautiful view over the surrounding countryside. Hoggin surfaces surround raised beds on either side of the deck, with inset sandstone slabs for a simple connection. The clients are keen vegetable growers so we can’t wait to see the beds brimming with produce. Purbeck stonework was added to existing steps and walls to level up the areas where necessary. We’ll be back soon for planting around the deck.

Over 20 years of landscaping we’ve had a number of labourers working for us. Labourers are key to a successful project and we take the time to teach them skills that will help them develop within their career. Here our most experienced team member is passing on his knowledge and skills. Not only does it help them but we also end up with more skilled workers who’ve learned to do things the right way. The Frome garden renovation is complete! We took on the challenge to make the space more interesting and useable. The back garden features a new porcelain terrace, wraparound steps, and a secondary paved area with a timber pergola. Clay pavers used to create a ramp between areas. Meanwhile, the front area has been transformed with new paving, Seville clay paver detailing, and sleeper terracing, making it a more considered space with ample room for planting. We’re really proud of this beautiful garden, deep in the Somerset countryside. From a plain and boring patch of lawn to this gorgeous space. Designed, built and planted by the Green & Gorgeous team the garden hit the brief to create a space worthy of the house and suitable for entertaining. The old greenhouse area was transformed with sealed limestone slabs and pavers ()with a bespoke oak pergola over (). Cedar cladding () covers the old greenhouse wall with new limestone copings. A mix of path gravel () and stepping stones weaves around the planting, leading to an informal seating area where hand-selected Ham stone boulders sit amongst Cotswold chippings - all retained by a Ham stone wall. Final pergola of 2025 done. Bespoke kit from with some help from . The addition of some rebar gives a nice modern twist and provides additional support for climbing plants. Love the look with the staddle stones.

It’s been a busy year for pergolas. This one has just been completed for a long standing customer. The old pergola had seen better days but with mature plants clinging to it and electric cables fixed to it this wasn’t as simple as it could have been. We pitched a modernised version instead of a straight replacement and the client is delighted with the chunky battens we’ve used. The plants are re-attached and can start scrambling over it again come spring. We love the variety of work we are able to undertake.

What a lovely project to work on. A new-build property with little thought initially given to layout. We designed a space that created a level patio area working with the sloping levels and utilising the existing steps. Using bricks to match the house makes this scheme feel like it was always meant to be this way. Pleached trees from give some privacy and lush planting softens the space. Kandla grey porcelain with Lucca clay pavers for the extra landing and edging details from give a really sleek finish. Swipe for the blank canvas shots 👀. Turfing. The most immediate transformation in a landscaper’s life. But it’s not easy. Preparation is key and accurate laying is key. It’s a very labour intensive job and this 1000m2 area took some planning - first weather has to be suitable - 2 weeks ago and this size area would be near impossible to keep alive in the heat. Too wet and everything takes twice as long to do. Order too much each day and you can’t get it laid in time …. And it’s it hard, hard work. We threw most of the landscaping team at this (the boss included!) and once again I think we’ve showed that we know what we’re doing. Repeat business for a client here who loves our approach to our work. A detail-focused approach was definitely necessary here. A very tight set of steps had been squeezed in next to the conservatory and the drainage was all over the place. We hand-dug back into the clay during the hot recent weather to create more space and created a beautiful set of steps with turns to make them not only easier to use, but an attractive feature in their own right. The red brick wall contrasts fabulously with the kandla grey sandstone copings. The project quickly grew to include a new patio and complete revamp of the drainage to get everything below-ground. Another delighted customer 😊
