Sympathetic refurbishment of a Grade II listed house in Frome, somerset.

We have been blessed to be a part of this beautiful and carefully considered complete renovation of a once derelict Grade II listed building into a modern family home, with a modern extension due next year.

This project stands as a testament to our clients unwavering commitment to stay true to the features of the original building, harmoniously merging history with modern family life.

The result…a truly beautiful palimpsest that lays bare the buildings rich heritage, whilst giving it a new lease of life as a warm and inviting home.

The renovation included the introduction of breathable woodfibre insulation, h**p plaster internally, restored stonework with traditional lime mortar, hand blown crown glass and chestnut riven/hand-split laths

Grade II listed extension

Very pleased to have secured planning approval for this modern extension to a Grade II listed property in the heart of Frome.

It's been a long road but perseverance and faith in our design approach, as well as a dedicated and trusting client, convinced the planners that our design should be approved and we can't wait to see it become a reality

A bold two storey rear extension of a 1930's semi detached house in Frome provides a light and bright open plan kitchen/diner, complete with hidden larder that's been perfectly executed. Upstairs, the extension provides a master bedroom with ensuite.

A standard 1960’s house renovated and extended into an outstanding and stunning contemporary home. By using high performance triple glazing and wrapping the existing structure in a highly insulated extension and facade, the energy requirements have been vastly reduced.

We loved working on this extension project for a wonderful local family.

This design packs a lot for its punch. The brief was to create an open plan kitchen dining space that also had a play room, a gym space, an office, a ground floor wc and a utility – all whilst retaining as much of the garden as possible. The final design creates a multi-purpose family room that connects seamlessly with the clients beautiful garden. A space where family life can be enjoyed but where toys can be hidden away from view, a completely separate light filled office space with a view of the garden, and a gym space, that although concealed away, still retains that visual connection with the outside.
