Our Aberdeen Branch has successfully completed a comprehensive, energy-efficient floodlighting modernisation project for Balgownie Bowling Club.

The project involved replacing outdated, high-energy sodium light fittings with state-of-the-art 298W LED architectural floodlights mounted on 7.5-meter lighting columns.

We completely managed the project to ensure zero operational disruption to the club's active game calendar, delivering an over 50% reduction in the club’s lighting energy consumption with daylight-standard illumination.

This is a great example of our ability to deliver premier, low-maintenance sports lighting solutions that lower commercial utility costs while enhancing the player experience.

Our latest EV Charger upgrade is now live at a busy public car park in Sunderland, partnering with the team at Connected Kerb.

The project involved decommissioning 4 legacy units and installing 6 Dual 7kW Connected Kerb chargers, scaling the site up to 12 total charging bays.

We didn't just bolt on new chargers, we completely re-engineered the site's electrical distribution system to support increased demand and future-proof the asset.

This project is a perfect example of our strength in merging green tech innovation with core industrial electrical engineering.

Leading by Example!

We are incredibly proud to share that HF operative Ben Bowman has been officially recognised for his outstanding safety standards, winning an Operative Health & Safety Award from the main contractor, Morgan Sindall Construction!

Ben was presented with the award by Senior Site Manager Stephen Doran for "constantly and consistently adhering to PPE standards, including task-specific PPE standards."

Maintaining 100% compliance with specialised safety gear in a fast-paced construction environment demands immense discipline and a proactive mindset. For our clients and principal contracting partners, having operatives like Ben on-site means reduced risk profiles, shared values, and flawless project momentum.

Fantastic work, Ben! Thank you for setting the bar high and embodying the very best of our core values.

We have successfully executed a zero-disruption system takeover and compliance audit for the award-winning Bonnie Badger in Gullane, East Lothian!

The goal? Upgrade the venue’s fire alarms, intruder systems and commercial CCTV network

The challenge? Doing it all without impacting the venues day to day service.

Of course we completed the system audit & fault rectification with zero disruption to daily hotel & restaurant operations.

By trusting HF with their system takeover, The Bonnie Badger team can continue to focus entirely on delivering their exceptional hospitality experience, knowing their guests and assets are fully protected.

From 25-year-old inefficiency to smart heating; our Mechanical team have delivered a comprehensive, turnkey plant room refurbishment at Whitburn Health Centre in West Lothian!

We safely decommissioned, dismantled, and recycled the legacy infrastructure, re-engineering the pipework into a modern, closed-loop, high-pressure heating system to guarantee even heat distribution across the extensive facility. We then replaced the four old units with three modern, high-efficiency commercial boilers featuring advanced modulation to precisely match real-time heating demands.

With an integrated smart Boiler Management System (BMS) featuring weather compensation sensors to drastically cut daily gas consumption (backed by an extensive 12-year warranty), the centre has successfully lowered its carbon footprint and secured substantial, long-term utility savings.

Another incredible project completed with minimal disruption to a live healthcare environment!

Our strength has always been our people and our willingness to embrace next-generation technology. That’s why we are incredibly excited to introduce the latest addition to our team: Amer Harfoush, our new AI Software Development Specialist!

Amer joins us through a prestigious Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) and will be working to transfer cutting-edge AI knowledge straight into our day-to-day operations.

With a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence and a heavy background in Mechatronics (the intersection of electrical and mechanical automation programming), we can't wait to see our digital infrastructure and automated systems evolve under his technical expertise.

Welcome to the team, Amer!

We love the opportunity to show up for the communities we live and work in. And on Friday, that was exactly what we got to do again!

Volunteers from the HF team traded their toolkits and keyboards for litter pickers, heading out into Victoria Park alongside our partners, the Glasgow Warriors, for a major clean-up and litter-picking event.

The Glasgow Warriors are well known for frequently partnering with local community groups, such as the Friends of Victoria Park, to conduct vital nature clean-ups across Glasgow’s beautiful green spaces. As a proud partner of the club, we were eager to roll up our sleeves and give them a helping hand.

It was a fantastic day and demonstrated what can be achieved when local businesses, sports clubs and community volunteers all align for a common cause.

A massive thank you to the Warriors and all the community volunteers who we stood shoulder-to-shoulder with on Friday. Together, we are keeping our parks clean, safe, and beautiful for everyone to enjoy!

Day 3 of our No Falls Week visits continue as Jamie, Louise and Niven went on site to bring the message directly to our team on the ground.

Jamie led a toolbox talk covering the essentials when it comes to working at height - selecting the safest method through thorough risk assessment, securing the required permits, and carrying out pre-use checks before any work begins.

The team at HF are the most important part of this business, and their safety is, and always will be, the number one priority. Getting the basics right, every single time, is what keeps people safe.

It was a brilliant visit and great to see the team engaging with such an important topic, helping to build a culture where safety is lived, not just spoken about.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to listen and take part today.

As we begin day 2 of No Falls Week, our SHEQ team have been out in force spreading the message that matters most: everyone gets home safe.

Jamie and Louise from our SHEQ team were joined by Niven Baillie, our Electrical Director in Edinburgh, and Joanna Lockett CIWFM, Facilities Manager for SRU on site at Murrayfield today to raise awareness of No Falls Week and the critical importance of working at height safely.

At Murrayfield Stadium, we are currently working on a new roof lighting upgrade for the stadium, utilising a bespoke rope access system to ensure the safest possible method while working at height. That gives us the perfect opportunity to talk through what that really means in practice.

- Carrying out pre-use checks

- Understanding the method statement

- Knowing the rescue plan

And most importantly...

- Appreciating why every single one of those steps exists.

Because it is not just about compliance, it is about making sure every person on site goes home to their loved ones.
