We now usually use only Millboard composite decking as we have found that both softwood and hardwood both require more time maintaining them than our clients wish to spend on them to keep timber in good condition due to our weather. Millboard is expensive but it looks great lasts for a very long time and requires no maintenance, check out their website.

We are using a lot of Millboard for our decking projects now. It’s not the cheapest composite decking but it looks fantastic and is zero maintenance. Nice wide boards, non slippy and Matt finish, looks just like wood without the upkeep.
