Just finished a great project! This customer wanted to upgrade their garden and we were happy to help.

🌿 A Little Extra Decking Never Hurt the View

GoldenOak were tasked with upgrading the original decking — giving the garden a boost in sunlight, privacy, and a fresh bit of life.

We widened the space, added a custom planter box, and threw up some smart fencing to make the area feel open and private (aye, it’s possible).

It’s the kind of job we love — a blank canvas with just enough challenge to get creative.
Bit of joinery flair, a few solid shifts, and a finish that’s clean enough to eat your dinner off (but please, use a plate).

One Year Ago Today (yesterday) 🛠️

A memory popped up from a year ago that still hits home.

A customer was scammed by a so-called joiner who never showed up, left her out of pocket, and left her trust in bits. She was a single parent, working full-time, just trying to make her home secure. After reporting the scammer to the police and trading standards, she was left with no money and no door.

That’s when I stepped in — supplied and fitted a brand new door for free. Why? Because no one deserves to be taken for a ride, and I believe showing up and doing the right thing matters.

She called me a “knight in shining armour” — but to me, it’s just the way it should be.

💥 Monday Morning Madness at Golden Oak 💥

There’s no better way to kick off a week than tearing apart a full decking—bit by bit, board by board—all before most folk have even wiped the sleep from their eyes ☕💪

🎯 This morning? It was tools out, heads down, and straight into it.
Keeping it clean, tidy, and professional—even when it’s hammering down. Rainy Mondays don’t stop the graft here. 🌧️🪚

We don’t just rip things up—we do it with precision, planning, and purpose. That’s the Golden Oak way.

Here’s what the lads have already cracked on with so far:

🔨 Full removal of the old decking—piece by piece, not smashed up like a demo derby
🧹 Keeping the site clean and safe (you won’t find a rogue rusty nail here)
📏 Measuring up and prepping the base for a solid rebuild
🧠 Careful dismantle of railing sections—no splinters, no mess, just pure skill
🌧️ Still cracking on in the drizzle, no grumbles (well, maybe a few)

This is where craftsmanship meets elbow grease, and every apprentice gets a proper graft lesson.
