Part 1 of a 3 part project of this townhouse restoration in the West End of Glasgow. Baltic pine with a pitch pine frame border that had been hidden for many decades under a carpet brought back to life after some repairs and finished with 4 coats of Matt products from part 2 and 3 to follow.

I’ve fitted thousands of meters of Junckers flooring over the last 25 years from domestic properties, sports halls to listed buildings, and seems like I’m now back restoring them all. This staved Beech floor was in a very high traffic area had started to show its age and was needing a full strip back restoration. Sanded back to bare wood with a dust free 6 machine process the floor was primed and sealed with 3 coats of a Matt 2K ceramic fortified finish that will be as strong as the original factory finish and be extremely durable and easy to maintain for years to come. Another Nordic Tone floor completed this week. This is the second project to be involved with the client after completing the same finish for their neighbour. This project required a full strip back to remove the dents, scratches and UV colour change that happens to Oak over the years. The floor was then sanded using a 6 machine process for a completely flat and scratch free surface ready for staining. Stained with a white pigment solvent stain to block the Oak colour and give it a much lighter look it was then sealed with an Ultra Matt 2K finish with a pure additive for a Nordic raw look. Completed dust free and handed back to the client in under 2 days. Restoration completed this week of this beautiful original Oak & Pine floors in this fantastic Edwardian period property. This is the 5th area I have restored as the client works through renovations of the rooms. Hiding underneath the carpet for decades this fantastic original floor was crying out to be brought back to life. Carpet, underlay and gripper rods removed along with thousands of staples the floor had some repairs and gaps to be dealt with and was then fully sanded back using a 6 machine dust free process. Finally sealed with 4 coats of a high quality durable Matt lacquer. Definitely a very rewarding project to be part of.

Back in StAndrews for a returning client for the restoration of this engendered oak floor. Very orange previously oiled finished floor was looking tired after many years of use and was looking a bit worse for wear. Gently sanded through the grits as this floor has a minimal top layer of oak veneer and as this floor is high traffic area including pets it was sealed with a 4 coat ultra Matt finish with the final layers fortified with a 2K ceramic commercial finish that will be fully cured in 12 hours with a R9 slip resistance rating that will last for many more years to come and can be refreshed in the future if needed. Fully finished and handed back to the client in 2 days 99% dust free.
