⚡️ Sliding gate recommissioned & future-proofed ⚡️

Called out to investigate a recently installed sliding gate that wasn’t stopping consistently in the correct position 👇

💡 The issue

The gate system hadn’t been commissioned correctly, with the magnetic reed switches for the open & closed positioning not set up properly — causing the stopping point to vary each cycle.

🔧 What we done

✔️ Recommissioned the gate correctly
✔️ Set up and tested the magnetic positioning properly
✔️ Ensured consistent and reliable stopping points
✔️ Tidied exposed safety radar cabling left by a previous installer
✔️ Installed copex and dressed the cabling neatly for a much cleaner and better protected finish

Another EV charger install completed — with a big focus on keeping the finished look as clean and discreet as possible 👌

✔️ Low-level surface-mounted cable route
✔️ Secured throughout using Linian Super Clips
✔️ Charger positioned for easy access from the driveway

💡 The challenge…

The consumer unit was located internally within a cupboard in the vestibule — meaning the cable route needed careful planning to avoid unnecessary disruption inside the property 👇

🔧 How we achieved it

✔️ Cable entered externally before being fed underneath the stairs
✔️ Floorboards lifted within the hall area
✔️ Cable then carefully fished through into the living room
✔️ Final route taken back through to the cupboard housing the consumer unit

Once completed:

✔️ All floorboards were relaid
✔️ Living room carpet reinstated
✔️ Installation left clean and tidy throughout

💡 Attention to detail matters

Where the cable entered the property externally, we backfilled the entry point with silicone before allowing the drilling dust to settle back onto the wet silicone — helping the finish blend naturally with the brickwork so the entry point is barely noticeable 👌

It’s the small details that make the difference between an install that’s simply functional… and one that’s properly finished.
