Gas boilers really don’t make sense anymore. They're just not efficient. There's not much you can do to improve them. We live in a changing world where new technology is constantly improving. Now, many people have concerns about heat pumps; it's human nature that negativity can outweigh positive outlooks. I think the number one thing people should take from a heat pump installation is that they can really save you money, plus, they cut the carbon footprint.

Right now, it’s a perfect opportunity for homeowners to have these installed. BUT YOU MUST DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON WHO DESIGNS AND INSTALLS YOUR SYSTEM. An everyday plumber/gas engineer is not your go-to; a friend who can do it cheaper IS NOT YOUR GO-TO. You must check their credentials. They must have up-to-date certifications. Before a heat pump installation even gets underway, a full heat loss survey and maximum electrical demands, which is the maximum likelihood of electricity at any given time, are necessary.

Heat pumps are incredible. It’s becoming more popular the technology is now right up there and to some this sounds new. But infact they have been around for many years. it’s in your nature to be wary, But the reality is, with the government-backed grant now of a whopping £7500 towards your install, and NOW the government has removed insulation requirements that could cost homeowners an extra £2500, there is no better time to start inquiring and updating your property to the 21st century. £10,000 SAVED towards your install.

The actual cost with the grant and removal of insulation requirements means the cost of you having a gas boiler vs. a heat pump is in MOST cases not different at all. There is no better time than now to start thinking about heat pump installs and doing your homework. They're not going anywhere. All new builds in 2025 gas is BANNED, meaning heat pumps are the perfect solution.

Like it or not, every homeowner will have to make upgrades over the years, and I see changes happening with regs being updated for plumbers/gas engineers. FACTS are they save you money when installed correctly and calculated.
