Grayshott Gardeners We host monthly Club Nights with high quality guest speakers and hold two shows a year.

We aim to encourage the practice of gardening and also to provide an opportunity for individuals to meet other gardeners to share their mutual interest in gardening.

Well we were treated to a very entertaining and interactive evening last night with Jonathan Newell (Wisley RHS Public Engagement Officer) for his talk on Trees. He came armed with all manner of twigs, cones (fir or otherwise) and most importantly, chocolate! There was much sniffing and tasting for those who dared. Thanks to all our members and guests who turned out on such a wet evening.

There’s always something to cut… as mentioned by Helier Bowling in her talk last month… So thank you to all our members who took up the challenge to venture out into their garden to pick some flowers in January! As you will see we had plenty of responses and some very lovely arrangements and posies, many of them scented!

A fun evening last night at our AGM. With the business out of the way in a very timely fashion it was on to the wine and cheese and a hotly contested quiz. Congratulations to the winning team seen in photo below! Also congratulations to Pamela & Alan Wright who walked off with the RHS Bronze Medal (which in future will be called the Stutchbury Award). This is awarded to the exhibitor gaining the highest number of points across our Spring & Summer Shows. It was a pleasure to have the Stutchbury family on hand to present the new plate which is dedicated to their parents who were staunch members of Grayshott Gardeners for so many years.

A coach load of us visited RHS Wisley on 30th Sept and were treated to guided tours and a lovely lunch plus some rather fabulous sunshine... Amazing to see a crane lifting in a panel of glass to the greenhouse and to see the revamped Piet Oudolf borders. Fortunately the coach had enough room for some of the many purchases made at the garden centre. Many thanks to Carmen (Events Coordinator) for organising! Many photos taken but here's a little sample.
