Here’s a lawn we seeded on October 5th.. With the lower half of the lawn almost a foot higher than the edge of the flower beds (see 2nd photo), it took a while to adjust the levels. After a bit of machine work and some elbow grease we got the levels just right. Only 16 days later we nearly have a fully established lawn!

Box Hedges looking stressed?
Look out for signs of Box Tree Moths and Caterpillars.
At the moment these pests are at large in the south east, they feed on and can completely defoliate Box Plants.

Scarification season is upon us!

Scarifying is important for maintaining a healthy, good looking lawn. Throughout the year, a lawn will accumulate a surprising amount of thatch and moss.
Thatch builds up when old grass blades and stems die away and are replaced with new ones, this is one reason your lawn may not look green even though it’s had plenty of water and sunshine.

This dead material takes a long time to decay, creating a spongy layer under the surface of your lawn.
Scarifying removes this layer of thatch and moss, allowing for new GREEN grass to grow through, drastically improving the health and appearance of the lawn.

The lawns on new housing developments sometime suffer badly due to difficult drainage and poor soil quality.
This customer contacted us recently as the lawn was looking dry and dull.
After a strong feed treatment from us and the right amount of watering, the lawn now has a new lease of life!
(Yes I know I just described a lawn as if it were in dog’s trust, am I sorry? No!)
