Do you have interconnecting rooms with the only light switch at one door so you have to stumble around in the dark if you come through the other door? Kinetic switches could be the answer. They work by transmitting a wireless signal to a receiver that controls the connected device so this means they don’t need wiring in - no chasing cables into the wall, no holes and no need to redecorate! Have you tested your smoke alarms lately? Testing helps identify dead batteries, malfunctioning units or dust accumulation.
❗️Test at least once a month by pressing the test button until the alarm sounds (set a recurring reminder in your phone calendar).
❗️Change the battery once a year (unless it’s a ten-year alarm).
❗️Vacuum or dust your smoke alarm once every three months to prevent false alarms.
❗️Replace after 10 years (the expiry date should be on the outside edge of the smoke alarm).

Replacing traditional incandescent light bulbs in your home with LED light bulbs is a great idea because they are significantly more energy efficient (contributing to a reduced carbon footprint), they last much longer, and can save you bundles on your electricity bills.
