Do you ever feel like you're performing a role rather than truly being yourself? How does that affect your creativity?
I've been thinking a lot lately about how we present ourselves to the world and how that impacts my own creative process. It led me to write "How Does Masking Affect Creativity?" – a deep dive into the ways we hide parts of ourselves and how that can either stifle or fuel our artistic expression. This is a topic I'm really passionate about, and I'd love for you to join the conversation. Head over to my Substack (link in bio!) to read the full post and share your experiences.

This was an unfinished portrait test piece that I did of my Nan who is no longer with us. My plan is to do a large version of this along with other people in her community. It is a large scale project so it’s just carving out the time. But I remember talking to my Nan about it and her being really excited about it, so I’d really like to finish the project, but if I’m honest I haven’t wanted to go there yet 😢.

Paradise Crossing- Graphite on paper, A3

This drawing was created during a summer in the Ashdown Forest, where every day. I would cross over this little bridge on my daily walks with the dogs. I loved observing this bridge when I’d come throughout the seasons, with the water levels changing and flowing more of less rapidly. I wanted to capture a little slither of paradise to take home with me, as it holds such fond memories. I have exhibited this piece twice now and it still holds a source of wonder and inspiration for me.
