Hello! ✨ Unfortunately due to my prospective tenancy falling through at the very last minute, I now have just a few weeks to clear the existing space and relocate the project infrastructure.

At the moment I’m looking for temporary storage space locally for a few months while I organise the next steps and find the right long-term home for the project.

This would need space for things like:
• a small shed
• a polytunnel frame
• fencing and tools
• general gardening equipment

A corner of a field, barn, yard or smallholding would be perfect. Everything would simply be stored safely while I work out the next location for the project.

Piccolo Orto has been supported by so many people in the community and I’m incredibly grateful for that support. I’m determined to keep the project going — this is just a temporary pause while I find the right next step.

If you know of anywhere locally that might be suitable, or know someone who might be able to help, I would be so grateful if you could get in touch or share this post.

Thank you so much for the continued support 🌱

A little update from Piccolo Orto 🌿

Some of you may remember that I had hoped to be announcing a new permanent location for our community sessions this week. After lots of planning behind the scenes, those plans have changed and the tenancy will no longer be moving forward as originally hoped.

While that was initially disappointing, it has also opened the door to a slightly different approach for this year.

Instead of working from one fixed site, Piccolo Orto will be offering a series of smaller pop-up nature connection workshops across a few beautiful local spaces.

These sessions will be low cost or free for the community, supported by our National Lottery Community Fund grant, and will focus on the same things that sit at the heart of this project — slowing down outdoors, getting creative with natural materials, sharing food, making things with our hands, and spending time together in nature.

I’m currently finalising a few locations and details, but ideas for the year include things like:

🌿 Clay sculpture inspired by the landscape
🔥 Simple outdoor cooking sessions around the fire
🌳 Gentle nature connection and creative journaling

I’m really excited about the possibilities this more flexible approach could bring.

Keep an eye out over the coming weeks for updates — and let me know in the comments where you’d love to see a workshop happen.

It’s been a little quiet over here… winter is naturally my slower, more reflective season.
But as the days start to stretch and the countdown to spring begins, I’m so excited to share that we have a new home 🌿

It’s closer to Helston and hopefully easier to get to for lots of you.. and full of potential – a place where this project can really grow and reach more people.

I’ll be sharing the full details and location next week. For now, just know there’s lots bubbling away behind the scenes, with plenty of nature lead creativity to come this year.

Spring feels close now 🌱

🌿 WE ARE LOOKING FOR OUR NEW HOME 🌿
As many of you now know, the land we’ve been based on is being put up for sale - which means Piccolo Orto will be spreading its wings and finding a new place to grow in 2025.

While this news is bittersweet, it also feels like the beginning of something wonderful. We’re dreaming of moving closer to Helston and discovering a space where we can continue everything Piccolo Orto stands for:
✨ Connecting children with nature
🔥 Fire-lighting, outdoor cooking + meals from fresh produce
🌾 Growing food from seed to harvest
🌈 Creative projects that root young people in the natural world
🌱 Forest school sessions, family mornings + school visits
…and so much more.

We are now actively searching for a new site - big or small -and would love your help.
Are you aware of:
• unused plots or fields
• woodland edges
• community land
• part of a farm
• garden spaces
• or hidden corners that could be perfect for a nature-based CIC?

We can adapt, co-create, collaborate, partner or steward space long-term.
Every idea, message and recommendation helps.💛

Despite the upcoming move, everything continues as normal for the rest of the year and we are excited for the next chapter of Piccolos story.

Thank you for being here, for sharing, and for believing in our work.
Big changes are coming… but so is big growth. 🌱✨

If something comes to mind, please pop me a message.
Let’s find our new home together. 💚

🌿 Hello!

I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately - life has been busy, and I’ve had a lot of plates spinning at once.

I’ve been taking a short break from social media to get back on top of things and focus on what’s important right now.

The dahlias are still going strong while the leaves have littered the woodland floor - I think that’s how I feel too, caught somewhere between wanting to bloom and rest. 🌸🍂

I’d really hoped to run some Halloween-themed sessions this year, but doing this all on my own and falling ill has meant taking a step back and giving myself time to repair.

I’m really keen to get some help with running future sessions - it’s become very clear I’m only one person and I simply cannot do it all. 🤍

We’ve got some exciting school visits coming up soon and lots happening at the farm - I can’t wait to share more with you soon.

But for now, I urge you to also listen to your body and slow down with the seasons if you need to. 🌾

Thank you so much for your patience, kindness, and understanding 💚

🌿✨ Wednesdays in the woods ✨🌿

Our wonderful young learner has been spending more time on the farm - exploring, connecting, and discovering all that the countryside has to offer (with a little help from Monty 🐾, who’s an official part of the sessions by special request!)

This week we lit a fire and cooked focaccia on the griddle - it tasted even better outdoors! 🔥🥖 We also spent the afternoon learning about birds, with a focus on the incredible swift. Together we designed and flew our own swift kite in the learning garden, which is still bursting with late-season colour and pollinator magic. 🌸

We’re already making plans to grow more together - in the garden and beyond. 🌱

We currently have a few spaces available for 1:1 sessions through our CIC, with funding still in place. If you know a young person who might benefit from some time in nature, connection, and creativity - we’d love to hear from you. 🌳💚

🌿 FREE Nature-Based Learning Sessions for Local Schools! 🌿

I’m Jenny - founder of Piccolo Orto CIC, RHS-qualified gardener and Forest School Leader based at Mount Carlees Organic Farm.

We’ve been awarded support from the National Lottery Community Fund, which means I can offer a limited number of FREE trial sessions for local schools and youth groups 🎉

These outdoor sessions are designed for young people aged 8–16 who may be struggling with confidence, social connection, or finding classroom life a challenge.

Every visit is tailored to the learner - whether that’s gardening, woodworking, bushcraft, or art in the woodland 🌳✨

If your school would like to refer a pupil or small group, please get in touch:
