Before and after pics of Warks chestnut tree.
Last two pics showing why it’s not been a good year for bleeding canker and why we have reduced the crown to lessen wind sail and weight this time around.
The last photo showing scaring from its original heavy infection which led to its first heavy crown reduction 12 years ago to some lesions which have appeared this summer , very probably due because of the wet summer which seems to have unfortunately made many bacterial and fungal infections more prevalent in trees.

Tim & Steph pruned the iconic Wark Horse Chestnut tree on village green 2012.. planted in the 70th reign of Queen Victoria.
Today the next generation of Wark Forest Landscapes, Matthew Fathers & Steph are pruning the tree again 12 years later…
