We're delighted to announce that planning permission has been approved for our proposals at with Edgerton Conservation Area ✍️

This project demonstrates how thoughtful architectural design can unlock the potential of an existing property while responding sensitively to its surroundings. Through a combination of detailed proposed drawings and realistic 3D visualisations, we were able to clearly communicate the design intent and help bring the client's vision to life.

Our design approach focused on creating a contemporary, functional living space that enhances both the appearance and usability of the home, while meeting planning requirements and respecting the character of the area.

A recently completed transformation in Thurstonland, reworking an existing home into a lighter, more connected and contemporary living space while remaining sensitive to its village setting.

The design carefully rethinks the original layout, improving flow throughout the home and introducing enhanced natural light and stronger visual links to the surrounding landscape. The result is a calm, open and highly functional family home that feels both modern and rooted in its context.

It’s always rewarding to see how considered design interventions can completely redefine how a home is experienced day to day.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Sara! 🎉

Today we're celebrating one of the driving forces behind Heneghan Architecture.

As a Director, Sara does an incredible job of keeping us all in line (not always an easy task! 😄) while helping to lead the company forward with vision, dedication and plenty of determination.

Her growth plan for Heneghan Architecture is firmly on track, and we're excited about everything that's still to come under her leadership.

Today, though, it's all about celebrating you. Thank you for everything you do for the team, our clients and the business.

Wishing you a fantastic birthday and a well-deserved break. We hope you take some time to relax, recharge and enjoy your special day!

Happy Birthday, Sara! 🥂🎂🎈

🤏Great News… we've secured planning permission for this new dwelling in Honley! ✅

This project transformed a small garage plot beside an existing bungalow, proving that homeowners don’t need large amounts of land to unlock development potential.

We’re pleased to share that planning approval has now been secured, comprehensive technical drawings have been completed, and work has officially started on site. It’s always rewarding to see a project progress from initial concept through to construction.

If you’re considering a potential development opportunity, our new Discovery Service for Developers is designed to help you take the first step. For a nominal fee, we’ll provide an initial assessment along with a hand-drawn sketch to demonstrate the potential of your site.

Sometimes the best opportunities are closer to home than you think.

This month marks a special milestone for us as we celebrate 5 years of Heneghan Architecture!

What started as a small practice with a passion for thoughtful, contextual design has grown into a studio trusted to deliver meaningful architectural designs across a wide range of projects.

We’re incredibly proud of the journey so far, the clients who have placed their trust in us, and the projects that have shaped who we are today. Every scheme has played a part in refining our approach and strengthening our belief in design that responds to place, purpose and people.

As we look ahead, we’re more motivated than ever to continue designing spaces that inspire and endure. Here’s to the next chapter!

❓ Have you ever wondered why houses have false windows?? 🪟

In Britain, the Window Tax was introduced in 1696 and homeowners were taxed based on the number of windows in their property. As a result, many people blocked up windows to reduce the amount they had to pay… and those historic façades can still be seen today.

It’s also often claimed that the phrase “daylight robbery” originated from the Window Tax, as people felt they were literally being robbed of daylight.

A fascinating reminder of how history, economics and architecture are often closely connected.

📢 We’re delighted to continue supporting Netherton Junior FC as they reach exciting new milestones in the funding journey for their new clubhouse! ⚽

Working closely with the club, we’ve developed a proposal that creates a modern, welcoming facility for players, families and the wider community. These CGI visuals showcase our vision for the proposed building, designed to provide a lasting home for the club’s future growth.

We’re proud to be part of this fantastic community project and look forward to continuing our work with Netherton JFC to help bring it to life.

Working closely with a talented team of consultants ensured that this scheme was carefully considered from every aspect, balancing design quality, planning policy and the local surroundings.
