🌿 Spring Checklist for Heritage Buildings 🌿

Spring is the perfect time to check your heritage building after the winter months. With drier, warmer weather on the way, it’s also the ideal time to plan and carry out external repairs.

Key checks
- Clear flat roofs, gutters and downpipes of leaves, moss and debris to keep water flowing away from the building.
- Inspect chimneys for loose bricks, cracks or gaps in the pointing.
- Check walls and roofs for slipped tiles, damaged flashings or signs of winter deterioration.
- Review windows and doors to ensure joinery, and paintwork are in good order.
- Remove moss and algae from pathways, patios and steps to prevent slips and surface damage.

Regular spring maintenance helps protect historic fabric and keeps small issues from becoming costly repairs!

Old Singleton Railway Station 🚂

Last year Traditional Stone had the privilege of restoring Old Singleton Railway Station, allowing it to be used by pedestrians and cyclists travelling between Chichester and Singleton Village.

Traditional Stone, acting as Principal Contractor, completing the following works:
- Stonework & masonry
- Roofing & leadwork
- Structural underpinning
- Painting and decorating

All works were carried out with heritage sensitivity and were carefully planned to remain historically appropriate.

We are very proud to have led such an important conservation project.
