📢 Winter is Here! Protect Your Boiler This Snowy Evening ❄️🔥

It’s snowing, folks! While the flakes are falling, don’t let the freeze catch your boiler off guard. Here are some fun and easy tips to keep your home cozy and your boiler happy:

1️⃣ Wrap It Up!
Give your condense pipe a warm hug with some pipe insulation or an old towel. It’s like a scarf for your boiler!
2️⃣ Keep It Flowing!
A frozen condense pipe can stop your boiler in its tracks. Run a trickle of warm water over it if it freezes to melt the blockage – like magic!
3️⃣ Turn Up the Heat!
Keep your heating on low, even if you’re out. This can keep the system ticking over and prevents pipes from freezing.
4️⃣ Don’t Forget to Vent!
Make sure your boiler’s vent and flue are clear of snow. A blocked flue can be dangerous!
5️⃣ Check Your Boiler Buddy!
If your boiler does cut out, check for an error code or flashing light – your manual will tell you how to fix it (or give us a call!).

💔 A Heartfelt Call for Support from the G&K Heating Community 💔

A few days ago, we received the news that one of our dedicated engineers has suffered a significant setback. Our van was broken into overnight, and all his power tools and hand tools – essential for his work as a plumber – were stolen. After 33 years of hard work in the industry, seeing everything taken in an instant is a devastating blow.

What makes this even more challenging is that these tools were personally owned and not covered by insurance, meaning he now faces an uphill battle to get back on his feet.

Unfortunately, with no CCTV available, the police cannot do much to assist. So, we’re turning to you – our community, fellow tradespeople, and anyone who can help. Whether it's lending a hand, sharing any relevant information, or contributing to help replace the tools, every bit of support counts.
