A walkthrough of a recently bath to shower room conversation

A very rewarding job completed in Icklingham. Something i usually wouldn’t take on . Usually i concentrate on full bathroom en-suite cloakroom or kitchen renovation projects. And often turn down smaller jobs . But I got a call from a regular customer who id done a full kitchen renovation in the past and a few jobs for her over the years . She was after having a bath taken out and a walk in shower put in . She didn’t want the rest of the room done and explained there was no need it wasn’t a case of making the room all nice and new it was a case of making her bathroom into a shower room so she could use it so it would meet her needs . I’d usually say I wouldn’t be able to preferring to do a full renovation to make a bathroom as good as I could doing the full thing. But she explained she had reached a stage in her life she couldn’t manage to get up into the bath to have a shower she was on her own and like a lot of elderly people felt unsafe getting in there in fear of a fall with no one around . Saying she didn’t want someone else in her house she didn’t know and would really appreciate if I would be able to do it for her . I am currently booked up until June . But I had booked a week off work so I took the job on . I removed her old bath the sink that hung over the bath and the tiles in the bath area fitted a new non slip stone resin shower tray 1600 x 700 slightly raised due to it being a bungalow and the drainage. Tiled the walls with some lovely light tiles matching them in as best I could to the existing tiles . Fitted a glass panel shower screen a new electric shower and a nice little vanity unit so she had plenty of room to access the shower . Now the lady has a nice new walk in shower with ease of use she can feel safe in with no fear of falling into a bath . I also re hung the door to open out to make it also feel safer and less enclosed . Her daughters were happy as they didn’t have the worry of her falling on her own or not being able to wash . And she was over the moon with her new shower . It’s definitely something I will say yes to and offer in the future. I’ve just booked another into a small slot I had free . It was a very rewarding job to do and an absolute pleasure and has totally changed this lady’s life making her a lot less worried about having a wash something most of us don’t have to worry about but a lot of people in the same situation will do . A cloakroom renovation completed in Kentford . Out with the old suite and in with new floor tiles new wall tiles all round , ceiling plastered and a new toilet and sink unit fitted . Then finished with a nice big towel rail . A cloakroom to be proud of . As a lot of people say the downstairs cloakroom is usually where guests will go so it’s nice to have a nice cloakroom to show off . There was also a water softener positioned in the room which had been leaking for years and the main stopcock for the house and all the other isolation taps for the softener had sized up so I replaced the mains and all the remaining plumbing around it then enclosed it with a floor to ceiling unit to hide it all away and provide a nice bit of storage.
All in all a great job done a pleasure to do for a lovely family I was well looked after on site and made welcome in there home I hope they enjoy it for years to come .

A shower room renovation recently completed in Bury St Edmunds. I stripped out the room removing all the unneeded boxing creating alot more space allowing for a far larger shower tray to be installed . Unfortunately I couldn’t get to tray directly on the floor due to joists around the soil pipe but got a lot lower than the original tray . I created new boxing with a handy niche in . Renewing all the existing plumbing and fitted new isolation valves throughout. Also fitting new waste pipes . Then fitted a lovely denim blue bathroom suite with enclosed cistern plenty of storage and a surface mounted sink on a solid laminate worktop . And fitted a new white towel rail . The tiles were massive 1200 x 400mm a wood effect tile minimising grout lines with the large profile tiles all edges finished with chrome tile strips . I fitted a new mira electric shower and a bifold shower screen . I tiled the floor with some feature tiles matching the colour of the units fitted a back to wall pan with slow close seat . And then fitted a new mirror cabinet to finish . All in all a lovely new shower room for a great couple to enjoy . It was a pleasure to do for them . A en-suite renovation in Thetford . Out with the original en-suite and in with a lovely new suite new 1200 x 800 anti slip low profile shower tray . New green marble tiles finished with brushed brass tile strip and black grout . All fittings in brushed brass new external mixer shower with rainfall shower head and handset . Grout line shower shelving . Sliding shower door brushed brass towel rail an a new vanity unit and toilet unit with back to wall pan . A unique en-suite which turned out stunning .
