Saw the biggest Swedish candles I've ever seen at Treeline Woodlands Ltd open day today. Made from a metre length of softwood cut down the middle with a chainsaw. Insert a fire lighter in a hole at one end and off it goes. Never realised these could burn so ferociously 😲

Treeline Woodlands Ltd Open day 6th June 2026. My Timber fence showcase on display today. Jordan MacFarlane kindly labelled each of the 6 styles on display. I happened to mention to Gavin Marshall, that once they were finished with it, it could be used as a "Naughty box" for employees at Treeline who misbehaved themselves? His response was "It's not BIG enough!" 😂😂😂

Built this arch/trellis over the gate a couple of years ago, at the same time planted one of David Austen's roses "Gertrude Jekyll" which has a very nice fragrance as you come through the gate. First photo of the arch when it was new, second one is today with the rose vigorously growing up the trellis.

No rest for the wicked. My latest project in the garden at home. Having constructed two timber decks in different parts of the garden I thought (My brain is constantly thinking, what can I do next with wood 😂) It would be a good idea to construct a bridge from one deck to the other over the gravelled area. Next plan is to figure out how to pump water from the river to flow under the bridge. A bridge too far? 🤭

Spent the day at my main fencing timber supplier Treeline Woodlands Ltd constructing a moveable display unit (on two pallets) that shows six styles of timber fence The unit will be moved into position by forklift for their open days, Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th of June 2026. There will also be displays of wire fencing, Firewood processing where you can see how their hardwood logs are split in a huge log splitting machine. There will also be displays of timber harvesting machinery and log splitters. There are rumours there's a BARBECUE 🍔😋
